 Fr 4/9/21

1010 am. 225 pm. 915 pm.

Up 8 am: Partly sunny, breezy with temps to lower 70's. Rain begins late this evening and continues through Saturday.

***I sent texts to Adam of Helitech and Chris of Capitol City Home Improvement. I want the quote from Creasey and Chris's bid on the drywall work. Also, I reminded Adam that I would like a paper copy of his contract. 11 am: Adam texted that he had a message from Creasey and he'll drop off the contract later today and he will get back to me.

Watched 'Croupier' (Netflix).  A would-be writer takes a job as a croupier to make money while he finishes his first novel, but he begins to suspect that the casino life will be his downfall.  His addiction is not gambling, but watching people lose. The film is smart and clever- truly an overlooked gem!  Shot on a soundstage in Monheim, Germany, the UK, and the Republic of South Africa..."I want to fuck the whole world over. That's my mission"... "Hang on tightly, let go lightly"... "Gambling is not about money. It's about not facing reality by ignoring the odds".

Jack Manfred quotes Hemingway: "The world breaks everyone eventually and afterwards many are strong at the broken places. But those that will not break, it kills."

Watched the first 2 episodes of 'LOUDERMILK' (Amazon Prime). It's a well-written series about a surly rock critic who runs a twelve-step program. I want to watch more of this gem. The series was produced at the AT&T Audience Network.

235 pm: Walked to Heartland to deposit the 'Biden Check' ($1,400). Parkview, Oakmont {saw Adam Fricke's house}, Golf, Greenbriar, Devon wood, Rickard {First time in that Dollar General ~ bought two $1.00 scented candles}, Lawrence, Kenyon, and down to 940...TWO HOURS... Mp3... 'Milestones' ~ Miles, RED HOT CHILLI PEPPERS.

Reading in the living room

640 pm: In the tub with 'Amnesia Moon' and listening to 'Biograph' ~ DYLAN, DRIVE-BY TRUCKERS.

Watched 'DETOUR' (Amazon Prime- leaving 4/20). A strange and disjointed presentation about a young man who wants to kill his step-father. And one night while drinking in a bar, he meets an evil stranger and his hooker girlfriend. Beautiful locations, but it wasn't Nevada or California, but sunny South Africa. The storytelling might be a little confusing, but the lead actors shine; with Tye Sheridan, Bel Powley, Emory Cohen, and John Lynch. Filmed on location in Cape Town and Barrydale, South Africa, LA and Las Vegas.

And then the next episode of 'LOUDERMILK' (Amazon Prime).
