Tu 5/18/21- Water Downstairs/ Anne Died
Tu 5/18/21
925am. 935pm.
Up 730am: Rain all day and through tomorrow morning. Today temps to mid 60's, but tomorrow to 80. No water downstairs this morning, but flooding warnings are in effect.
(It began seeping between 8am and 9am)
*Texted Adam about when Kyes can begin the demo work.
***WATER DOWNSTAIRS. I noticed when I went downstairs just after 9am.
Watched Netflix disc 'YELLOW ROSE'. A film about the plight of undocumented Americans with the story of a young Texas girl who loves Country Western and learning to perform for an audience, yet she's facing deportation to Manila. Mom gets caught in an ICE raid and daughter might be the next to go, but her friends at The Broken Spoke saloon give her a helping hand. Sounds corny, yet it felt authentic. The key players were actresses from the Philippines.
***Called Brewer to arrange pickup of another gel-pen.
125pm: ON THE TREADMILL...5 MILES at 3.4 pace and finished ANTHONY CUMIA on JOE ROGAN and then part of a SARAH SILVERMAN podcast.
***Water is coming up from the center seam. Should I call Acculevel? 2pm. I called Adam and I told him the situation and that I'd give Acculevel a call. I also asked if we could re-dig with Helitech. Yes. Acculevel called back, but I didn't hear it and Jim left a message to send pictures. I sent 3 pics via text and I don't know if they got it. They did and Mike will call back. Nada.
250pm. Drove to Brewer to pick up the gel pen and drop off the Netflix disc. As I walked out the door I grabbed the ear buds and thought Planet Fitness might be an anxiety release.
315pm. PLANET FITNESS : 45"CROSS. 30"TREADMILL. 30"CROSS- One Hour 45" Total.
***I was reading in the living room and I got a text from Janny saying that Anne died at 2pm. this afternoon. They were prepping her for a permanent feeding tube, but the doctor realized she was too weak for the procedure. She died a half hour later.
7pm: In the tub with TEVIS and listening to MILES DAVIS, 'Zooma' ~ JOHN PAUL JONES.
***Although there is not an excessive amount of water downstairs, tonight I'll be upstairs because more rain is still in the forecast.
I watched 'MURDER TO MERCY: The Cyntoia Brown Story' (Netflix). She was a prostitute and convicted of murder at sixteen, yet there's more to her story than meets the eye. She was soliciting for sex and a man picked her up and took her to his home. She admits to killing him and her defense was that she was afraid for her life, but why did she take his money and his truck? She got a judicial review because she suffered from 'Fetal Alcohol Syndrome' and because 'prostitute' is no longer a legal term. Hookers are now 'victims of sex trafficking'. I don't think there is a crime that you could commit at sixteen that would warrant a life sentence without the possibility of parole. People do change for the better in prison, and Cyntoia seems like one of them.
