 Tu 5/25/21

9am. 105pm. 845pm.

Up 730am: Partly cloudy with temps to the mid 80's.

Watched 'THE GHOST WRITER' (Amazon Prime- leaves Amazon in seven days). Directed by Roman Polanski. An English politician who is under fire for his policy on terrorism hires a ghost writer to finish his autobiography. While researching his subject, the writer learns that the politician's wife was a CIA agent and it was she who was making the important decisions about policy. In the end the writer is killed in a hit and run 'cover-up' and the memoir pages are scattered over the rain soaked streets of London. A taut thriller and the sets and locations were beautiful. The film is mostly set in Martha's Vineyard, but the scenes were shot in Denmark and Germany; with Ewan McGregor, Jim Belushi, Timothy Hutton, Kim Cattrall, Olivia Williams, Eli Wallach, and Tom Wilkinson...Memoir of a magician titled- "I Came, I Sawed, and I Conquered"...

Noon: Going to do a little work around the house: Remove driveway weeds, Clean speaker cabinet, Hide bong, and Dump some cassettes. Did all of this except dumping the cassettes in an hour and 20 mins.

120pm: Planet Fitness. 45" Cross. 30" Treadmill. 30" Bike. 30" Treadmill. 30" Cross. 2 HOURS AND 45" TOTAL.

Home to finish 'THE FERAL DETECTIVE' and then in the tub with 'THE 13TH DIRECTORATE' and listening to CANNONBALL ADDERLY, and  an episode of the podcast  'THE ICEHOUSE CHRONICLES'.

Watched 'AMERICAN FOLK' (Amazon Prime). The day of 9/11 a guy and a girl, both folk singers, are stranded in Los Angeles and drive a beat-up van across the country to get back to NYC. It's an overly romantic portrait of the kindness of strangers on the road...I guess. This is probably a movie festival favorite and it does have a bit of charm especially if you're a 'folky'.
