910am. 105pm. 9pm.
Up 730am: Chance of rain all day and through the night with temps to the upper 70's.
Watched 'THE FISHER KING' (Amazon Prime). Another film about a descent into mental illness, but this one was a more humorous take than last night's 'TAKE SHELTER'(Michael Shannon and Jessica Chastain). A radio shock-jock feels responsible after a man shoots up a restaurant because of their on-the-air altercation. Then he meets a homeless man who is clearly insane and his wife was one of the victims of the shooter. The radio personality and the homeless man become friends. A sweet story and a 'reimagining' of the opera 'Parsifal' that involves the quest for the holy grail. Directed by Terry Gilliam with Jeff Bridges, Robin Williams, Amanda Plummer (daughter of Christopher Plummer), Mercedes Ruehl, and Harry Shearer.
***I called Zane before I started the film and he said that he'd call around lunchtime so that we can arrange a time for him to fix the electrical problem- No light on the lawn or in the front window. Zane never called back. I'm beginning to get sick of his inability to touch base. I'm not asking him to do anything but return a call when he says he will.
1245pm: PC is 'Off' and I'm heading to Planet Fitness.
115pm: On the road... 45" Cross. 45" Treadmill. 30" Bike. 30" Treadmill. 30" Cross: 3 Hours. Watched "MANHUNT: DEADLY GAMES (Netflix)~ 4 episodes!
Read in the living room and 620pm in the tub with 'INADMISSIBLE EVIDENCE' and listening to DAVE BRUBECK, GEORGE THOROGOOD & THE DESTROYERS, and part of another ICE HOUSE COMEDY podcast.
I finished 'INADMISSIBLE EVIDENCE' by Philip Friedman. A lot of moving parts, but a satisfying legal thriller even if there was no shocking revelation at the end.
***Before watching the film I noticed that I was only getting 18.3 Mbps. It's raining, but so what? Then it was back to 115 Mbps after I smoked at 9pm....Computer, Xfinity, or Cannabis?
Watched 'STEP BROTHERS' (Amazon Prime- leaving 7/1). Somewhere between silly and stupid, but parts were very funny; with Will Ferrell, John C. Reilly, Mary Steenburgen, Richard Jenkins, Kathryn Hahn, and Adam Scott. From Village Voice: "...Step Brothers' freely associative surface is a fairly astute commentary on how we define such abstract concepts as "growing up" and "making something of yourself." Amazing Trivia: Richard Jenkins worked as a truck driver for John C. Reilly's father. Jenkins first knew John C. Reilly when he was only four years old.
