 Th 7/22/21

***(3 moderate hits 945am and 11am; very mild- an ideal 'elevation' when visitors invade the personal space), 135pm. 830pm.

Up 630am: Mostly sunny with temps to the upper 80's.

Wasting an absurd amount of time watching silly Reddit videos. They are almost all entirely ridiculous, but so mesmerizing.

***Text from Zane (820 am: First received text on the new phone) that he was on the way. He's still not here at 915am. He arrived by 930am and I think he went to the store to buy another shop vac- so that both of them can vacuum.

Around 1030am I resumed 'THE GODFATHER EPILOGUE: THE DEATH OF MICHAEL CORLEONE' (Peacock).  An expanded and star-studded cast, yet it's no match for the first two films. Although it's still better than almost any other film of the genre. The last section 'at the opera' with the Vatican intrigue was just way over the top; with Al Pacino, Diane Keaton, Andy Garcia, Eli Wallach, Joe Mantegna, George Hamilton, Bridget Fonda, and Sofia Coppola. "Finance is a gun, politics is knowing when to pull the trigger".

1230pm: I finished the film and will stay for about an hour reading and then back to Planet Fitness.

2pm; On the machines at Planet Fitness- 45" Cross. 45" Treadmill.  30" Bike. 30" Treadmill. 30" Cross. An ARI SHAFFIR podcast and then 'RETALIATION ' (Amazon Prime), A film that was more than slightly over the top melodrama, and could have been so much better; with Orlando Bloom. Finally, I listened to JOEY DIAZ talk of his problems with weed and coke during an incarceration at a halfway house.

When I got home KYES RENOVATION was still on the job. They want to complete the floor tiles tonight and finish the trim and door installation tomorrow. The work looks great and I hope they finish tonight soon...6pm and they're still on the case.

But they left very soon and in the tub by 620pm with ALGREN and listening to THE MIGHTY LEMON DROPS, LIVE AT THE GREEK- Jimmy Page and the Black Crowes.

On the upstairs PC I watched the Netflix disc 'MINDING THE GAP'. I thought that this was going to be a film about teenage skateboarders, but it was so much more. It was a lo-fi, yet deeply moving documentary about a group of friends from Rockford, Il. who bond over skateboarding and are trying to make their way in the world. They are barely working class and have very limited opportunities, yet they have their whole lives in front of them. At the end of the film, you can't help but to wish them well. I really liked this film!

1020pm: PC is 'Off' and in bed a little early for the last day of the remodel.
