935am. 1220pm (a pinch). 3pm. 920pm.
Up 710am: Bright and sunny with temps to just over 70.
I noticed another 'noise' when I booted up the living room PC. I had left 'Goats Head Soup' in the player and the computer was trying to play the disc. Everything is fine.
I wrote up 'RAIN DOGS' by Sean Doolittle for the blog.
Watched 'KILL THE IRISHMAN' (Xfinity). A hyper-melodramatic account of the Cleveland mobster, Daniel Greene. True Fact: 36 bombs exploded in Cleveland during the summer of 1976 in Danny Greene's war with the Italian mafia. A great subject for a film, but this was a little too over-the-top. The dialog was almost a parody of a gangster movie, but still worth a look.
Then I watched episode 2 of 'MONSTERS INSIDE: The 24 Faces of Billy Mulligan' (Netflix). Legally I think it would work better if competency was never an issue. If evidence proves you did it, you are sentenced. Extenuating circumstances such as abusive childhood, mental illness, or addictions would come into play at the sentencing.
145pm: PC is 'Off' and will drive to Walgreens and find out about flu shot and Covid booster. Then home for 'a pinch' and off to Planet Fitness.
210pm-250pm: To Walgreens for flu shot. An odd discussion about 'third shot' or the 'booster'. When the shot becomes 'Okayed' by the feds, Walgreens will begin inoculations.
310pm: To Planet Fitness. 45" Cross. Feeling weak or tired. Flu shot? 15" Treadmill. 30" Recumbent Bike. 30" Treadmill at 3.0 pace. 30"Bike. 30" Cross. Finished 'MONSTERS INSIDE ' (NETFLIX), JOEY DIAZ podcast, an episode of 'ATYPICAL ' (NETFLIX).
7pm: In the tub with PYNCHON and listening to WOLF PARADE, ZAPPA- 'Apostrophe ', and various podcasts.
Watched episode 1 of 'CRIME STORIES: India Detectives' (Netflix). A woman in Bengaluru, India (The Silicon Valley of India) kills her mother and attempts to kill her brother because she wanted to commit suicide, but she felt it would be more humane to kill them rather than have them experience the humiliation of her own suicide. Odd, yet seemed believable to the Indian authorities, I guess. The series will be well worth a binge!
