We 2/2/22- Super Snow Storm!
We 2/2/22
805am. 1110am (a pinch). 505pm (2 hits/1 hitter). 750pm.
Up 6am: We got about 3" by 6am. and it's supposed to ease up late this afternoon, but heavy snow through the night until Thursday afternoon. The total could be over a foot and a half. Very cold with temps only in the upper teens. (Update: Thursday, 730am.- We got about 2 inches last night and a couple of more expected today. The warnings end at 6pm. today. I think that the two day total should be around a foot).
Watched 'AMANDLA' (Netflix). A lackluster film about a 'good' brother and a 'bad brother' who grew up in a poor black township in South Africa. Their parents were murdered because three white thugs learned that one of the boys had kissed a white girl. Years later this traumatic incident comes back to haunt the boys. Ho-hum.
Watched 'JASPER MALL' (Amazon Prime). A profile of a failing shopping mall through the eyes of their maintenance/security guy and the woman who is closing her flower shop after 25 years in the mall. Jasper, AL is 40 miles northwest of Birmingham, AL... Well-shot and makes you kind of sad.
1pm: PC is 'Off' and preparing for a walk on the treadmill. I think that later this afternoon I'll shovel snow instead of the two mile walk.
115pm: FIVE MILES AT 3.9 PACE AND 0.50 SLANT and watched more of MARK NORMAND & SAM MORRIL on Skeptic Tank and began ANDREW SCHULZ on J.R.E.
1 weight set
330pm-415pm: shoveled the driveway & walk. Definitely the most snow that I have ever shoveled on Westview.
Read 'GONE FOR GOOD' for about 20 mins.
505pm: In the tub with 'GONE FOR GOOD' and listening to THE JEFF BECK GROUP; CACTUS.
Watched part of Shane Gillis and Mark Normand on Skeptic Tank.
Watched 'PERMANENT' (Amazon Prime). It's the early 80's and an uptight suburban family in Virginia goes through some disconcerting and bewildering changes. Dad needs to learn to swim without his toupee, mom demands more attention from dad, and daughter needs her 'permanent' to relax. The film has its funny moments, but overall it was only somewhat amusing; with Kira McLean, Patricia Arquette, and Rainn Wilson. From RogerEbert.com:..."Permanent feels like a short film stretched to feature length. It never quite rises above the level of its premise". Filmed near Petersburg and Hopewell, Virginia.
