Su 4/17/22: Easter
Su 4/17/22
8am (2). 1050am (1). 1255pm (2). 710pm. 830pm (2).
Up 615am: Mostly cloudy with showers beginning later this evening with temps to about 50.
I wrote up 'REVOLUTIONARY ROAD' by Richard Yates and 'THE WEIGHT OF THIS WORLD' by David Joy for the blog.
Watched 'FURIOZA' (Netflix). Polish football hooligans morph into a criminal enterprise and one gang member is forced by the police to infiltrate The Furioza Club. A crazy phenomenon where teenage gang activity extends almost to middle age because there's nothing else to do in Poland. Gangs and corruption control everything and one of the gang leaders poses a rhetorical question about 'The state of democracy in Poland' and the very idea of Poland as a democratic state just makes the thugs laugh. Filmed near Gdansk and Gdynia, Poland.
Then, 28" into episode one of 'ANATOMY OF A SCANDAL' (Netflix).
1130am: PC is 'Off' and will do the Weekly Cleaning and then an afternoon at Esporta.
105pm: To ESPORTA, however a sign on the door said 'close at 4pm' so I went to Planet Fitness.
130pm: 45" Cross. 45" Treadmill; 1.5 slant/3.6 pace. 30" Bike. 30 " Treadmill. 30"Cross and more ' ANATOMY OF A SCANDAL, and more of a JOEY'S JOINT.
505pm: In the tub to begin 'HIT PARADE' by Lawrence Block and listening to ALBERT AYLER.
Watched the last two episodes of 'ANATOMY OF A SCANDAL' (Netflix). A married British member of parliament is accused of rape. The prosecution's female district attorney was also sexually assaulted by the MP when they were in college, but she chooses not to disclose this fact. The MP and his wife knew this woman twenty years ago, but nobody remembers and this is a bit hard to believe. This series was just a few points above average and not worth six episodes; with Rupert Friend (HOMELAND), Sienna Miller (AMERICAN WOMAN), and Michelle Dockery (DOWNTON ABBEY).
