8am. 1230pm. 645pm. 845pm (3 hits/bong).
Up 635am: Partly sunny with temps to low 60's. Maybe I'll take the bike to Esporta later this afternoon.
Borrowed three films from Hoopla. It shut down before 7a yesterday; 'PINK CLOUD', 'BROKEN POET' and 'TOMATO RED: BLOOD MONEY'.
***I gave Buddy a small serving of Friskeys when I got up during the night. He was sick only once yesterday afternoon and nothing since.
When I took the phone off the charger I had to 're-start' and it seemed to stall during the process. Seems to be OK.
Watched 'TOMATO RED: BLOOD MONEY'. Fresh out of the slammer, a drifter falls in with a family of misfits. They're all stuck on the bottom rung of life's ladder and no way up. An Irish/Canadian production. Filmed near Ashcroft, Kamloops, and Merritt, British Columbia, Canada; with Jake Weary (son of soap opera actors Kim Zimmer and A.C. Weary) and Julie Garner... "Take the Beatles, most girls would probably pick Paul or John, but I know that I'd never have a chance with either of them, so that's why I'd take Ringo. I could maybe have a chance with him."... "I just keep stacking the days until one day I fuckup big enough that the future just gets cancelled."
After the film I looked at Amazon books for more by Daniel Woodrell, but got one by David Joy called 'THE WEIGHT OF THIS WORLD': $5.48.
1115am: PC is 'Off' and doing the Weekly Cleaning and then to Esporta. Bike or Car? Car.
1240pm: To ESPORTA. 45" Cross. 45"Treadmill. 30" Bike. 30" Treadmill. 30" Cross and watched 2 episodes of 'NEW SCOTLAND YARD FILES' and watched about an hour of 'TRUST NO ONE: The Hunt For The Crypto King' (Netflix).
445pm: In the tub with TOM ROBBINS and listening to GOV'T MULE.
Finished 'DAKOTA MEYER' on J.R.E. and more of 'GAVIN DE BECKER' on J.R.E.
Watched 'THE PINK CLOUD' (Hoopla). A toxic pink cloud descends on Earth and no one can leave their houses or apartments or they will die within ten seconds. Confinement lasts for years and the government kicks in for food and the Internet, but real life just isn't the same. In one apartment a one-night stand turns into a prolonged sour marriage where dad believes 'We're Fine', mom fixates on 'the way things were', and their son believes the pink cloud provides predictability and stability. A Brazilian (in Portuguese) remake of the French film, 'JUST A BREATH AWAY'. Written three years before COVID, yet hits the all highlights of isolation, fear, and acceptance.
Then I finished the last half hour of 'TRUST NO ONE: THE HUNT FOR THE CRYPTO KING' (Netflix). Bitcoin bigwig Gerry Cotten scams his clients for tens of millions and then dies 'of natural causes' in India. Many believe he's still alive, and maybe he is because this is only one of many conspiracy theories linked to Cotten.
