805am. 12pm (1 hit/1 hitter). 140pm (1 hit/1 hitter). 710pm.
Up 635am: Sunny early then turning cloudy and windy with temps to upper 40's.
I wrote up 'HALF ASLEEP IN FROG PAJAMAS' by Tom Robbins for the blog.
Watched 'V FOR VENDETTA' (Netflix- leaving 4/30).
"Strength through unity, unity through faith". "Artists use lies to tell the truth and politicians use lies to cover up the truth". In a dystopian near future a British revolutionary believes that anarchy is preferable to totalitarianism and the application of his theory transforms the nation. A valid complaint is that there is " too much pseudo-philosophical info" in the film but that's the intention because it forces you to think about these political concepts; with Hugo Weaving (he's behind the mask and his face is never revealed), Natalie Portman, Stephen Rea, Stephen Fry, John Hurt, Eddie Marsan, and Tim Pigott-Smith. 7 wins and 29 nominations.
What a topical premise:
"In the film a devastating plague known as the St. Marys Virus kills 100,000 people in England, the Norsefire party; a racist, fascist white supremist political party runs on the platform of order and security and wins the general election with a 83% victory."
I watched a couple of YouTube reviews just to see what they were thinking. No doubt one of the better and well received Wachowski Bros. movies.
1140am: PC is 'Off' and I was preparing for a walk around Washington Park and over to Walgreens to see about the next booster shot for COVID, but it looks a little too cold and blustery, so today is another session on the treadmill.
***Beltone just called and I made the appointment last year for 1pm tomorrow, and, of course, this is the time and date that I visit the Brandenburgs. I could have two things to do in six months, and they'd both request the same day. Fucking unbelievable!
12pm: FIVE MILES AT 4.0 PACE AND 1.50 SLANT and began YANNIS PAPPAS on J.R.E.
Reading 'REVOLUTIONARY ROAD'.
410pm: TWO MILES AT 4.0 PACE AND 1.50 SLANT and more of YANNIS PAPPAS on J.R.E.
5pm: In the tub with 'REVOLUTIONARY ROAD' and listening to JUICY LUCY.
Began the Netflix disc series 'VINYL'. A coked-up music executive provides the focus for an overview of the music scene when punk, disco, and hip hop were created. Too bad there wasn't a second season; with Bobby Cannavale, James Jagger, Ray Romano, Juno Temple, and Olivia Wilde.
