Wrote up 'THROUGH A GLASS DARKLY' by Karleen Koen for the blog.
I was going to watch the Netflix disc 'THE COURIER'. I had recently seen this film because it's included with Amazon Prime. My bad, so it's on to something new.
Watched 'INTRUSION' (Netflix). Silly 'B-Movie' about a young couple who move to an ultra-modern dream home in the middle of the desert. The man is an architect and he's incorporated a secret underground bunker where he intends to kidnap and torture young women, but his sultry wife saves the day; with Freida Pinto and Logan Marshall-Green...From The New York Times- "It’s an exercise in watching someone have the world’s slowest revelation"...From RogerEbert.com... "There are simply too many moments here in which the characters, who we are supposed to care about in some form, are conveniently dumb". Filmed fifteen miles north of Albuquerque in Corrales, New Mexico.
Then began 'UNCLE FRANK' (Amazon Prime). "It would bring shame on my family"..."Why wouldn't it bring shame on my family"?..."Because you're American and Americans don't care about Honor"... A young woman from rural North Carolina leaves home to attend college in NYC where her uncle teaches. At a party at his house she learns that he is gay and when his father dies the uncle and niece return to the sticks and for the funeral. His father left a clause in the will damning him for being gay and outed him to the rest of the family. A well-written script about the hazards of being gay around stupid and bigoted people; with Paul Bettany, Sophia Lillis, Peter Macdissi, Steve Zahn, Judy Greer, and Margo Martindale.
1215pm: The PC is 'Off' and will finish the last 20" of the film at Planet Fitness later this afternoon. The plan is to workout and then hit County Market for the Tamsulosin refill.
1240pm: To Planet Fitness. 45"Cross. 45" Treadmill. 30" Bike. 30" Treadmill. 30" Cross; Finished: 'MELTDOWN: 3 Mile Island', finished 'UNCLE FRANK', finished 'A VERY BRITISH SCANDAL ', and more DOUG STANHOPE on J.R.E.
Picked up Tamsulosin/ County Market
505pm: In the tub with 'AMERICAN BOY' and listening to JASON BONHAM BAND.
Watched 'LIKE A ROLLING STONE: The Life & Times of Ben Fong-Torres' (Netflix). I thought Jann Wenner was the genius behind Rolling Stone Magazine, but according to this documentary, Ben Fong-Torres made all of the musical decisions because he was the Musical Editor. Rolling Stone was the first national magazine devoted to rock music and music was what kept it about the 'last word' on what was hip.
