715am (2). 850am (2 hits pre-roll). 1120am (1). 350pm (1). 640pm (1).
Up 530am: More sunny skies and temps to low 80's.
Watched Netflix disc 'RESPECT'. I learned that I knew next to nothing about Aretha Franklin's personal life. Very surprised to learn that during the early 60's she had nine jazz albums on Columbia without a single hit. When she connects with Jerry Wexler (played beautifully by Marc Maron) he convinces her to use the studio musicians at Muscle Shoals and this was the first time that Aretha had the opportunity to produce and direct her own recording session. I didn't know that she had an overbearing father or a history of alcohol abuse, but this was almost too easy to accept; with Jennifer Hudson, Forest Whitaker, Marlon Wayans, Tituss Burgess (THE UNBREAKABLE KIMMY SCHMIDT), Audra McDonald, Marc Maron, and Mary J. Blige.
1055am: PC is 'Off' and preparing to walk downtown to mail the disc.
1125am: Out Governor, a little bit of downtown and back Edwards...ALMOST TWO HOURS...'Live AT The Beacon' - THE ALLMAN BROTHERS; 'Live AT The Mocambo' - THE STONES.
Reading 'A THIN DARK LINE'
355pm: TWO MILES AT 4.1 PACE AND 1.50 SLANT and began RYAN HOLIDAY on J.R.E.
445pm: In the tub with 'A THIN DARK LINE' and listening to 'Sidewinder- LEE MORGAN; 'Holmes- BONNIE & DELANEY.
Watched more of RYAN HOLIDAY on J.R.E. and then
'GLADBECK: The Hostage Crisis' (Netflix). A famous hostage situation that happened in Germany during the summer of 1988. A huge pack of journalists were interviewing armed hostage takers as they were in the act of kidnapping dozens of individuals. Since then the police no longer allow journalists to interview or negotiate for evil doers. I don't think anything like this has occurred in America.
Tired tonight. No weights and going to hit the hay a little early.
