We 6/22/22- 1st Pre-Roll
7am (2). 915am (1). 1220pm (1). 640pm (3 hits pre-roll). 8pm (3 more hits pre-roll).
Up 635am: Sunny with temps to about 90.
I watered the flowers along the front walk and cut back some of the weeds.
Picked 2 from Hoopla:
'A GOOD WOMAN', 'THE OTHER ME'
Watched 'A GOOD WOMAN' (Hoopla). I didn't realize until the credits rolled that the film was based on a play by Oscar Wilde called 'Lady Windermere's Fan' and that explains the unbelievably clever dialogue; with Helen Hunt, Scarlett Johansson and Tom Wilkinson..."If you care so much about what other people say, why have your thoughts of your own?"..."I've found that the only way to keep your word is to never give it"..."Every man is born truthful, and every man dies a liar"..."Every saint has a past and every sinner has a future"..."Men don't trust women and women don't trust women. It's what binds the Hindu and the Catholic faiths"..."It takes practice and skill to live without regret".
Began a three part series called 'CRIMINAL GERMANY' (Netflix). A rich Berliner is questioned about a murder that occurred thirty years ago. Lots of verbal maneuvering and clever repartee, but the suspect was not a murderer. He only assumed the identity of the murdered man. Not bad and I'll watch the other two episodes.
1020am: PC is 'Off' and will read and then hit Planet Fitness early this afternoon.
1230pm: To Planet Fitness. 45" Cross. 45"Treadmill. 30"Bike. 30"Treadmill. 30" Cross and watched 'MANHUNT: Unabomber' (Netflix) - one remains, and more JOE LIST and MARK NORMAND, and began ANTHONY DEVITO on SKEPTIC TANK.
435pm: In the tub with VALIS and listening to 'Blood & Chocolate'/ 'Taking Liberties'- ELVIS COSTELLO.
Watched 'THE HUNTER' (Amazon Prime). An aging bounty hunter does his stuff in Los Angeles, NYC, Chicago, and all points in between. Many interesting chase scenes; 1) the bounty hunter hanging off a Chicago CTA train; 2) watching a Trans Am get blown apart after being chased by a combine around a corn field; 3) and a 1979 muscle car careers off the 17th floor of Marina Towers and crashes into the Chicago River; with Steve McQueen, Eli Wallach, Kathryn Harrold, LeVar Burton, and Tracey Walter. Steve McQueen looked exhausted in the movie and it says in the Trivia that he found out that he had lung cancer during the making of this movie. 'THE HUNTER' was Steve McQueen's last film and I was surprised to learn that he was only fifty when he died. Ralph 'Papa' Thorson was the real bounty hunter and he had a cameo as 'the bartender' and he died in a car bomb explosion in 1991.
***I decided to take a crack at one of the pre-rolled cannabis cigarettes. The first 'joint' that I've smoked in almost forty years, but I've been stoned (lightly) every day for at least two years via '1-hitters' and a bong. The pre-roll was some really weak tea so I did a little more at 8pm. A subtle and mellow high...like smoking banana peel.
