Wrote up 'NELSON ALGREN: A Life on the Wild Side' by Bettina Drew.

The plan is to watch a movie, workout at Planet Fitness, and attend the party on Glenwood at 3pm. 

Watched 'COLLISION' (Netflix).  A South African thriller that deals with a corrupt and racist white executive, his failed marriage, and his rebellious daughter. White people are beginning to treat blacks as human after 'Freedom Day' in 1994, yet the executive balks. When his daughter is kidnapped by a black hoodlum, he tries to get her back, but the deck is stacked against him. A little too melodramatic, but worth a look. Fun Fact: Indigenous South Africans resent Nigerians because they sell expired goods in their shops and unfairly undersell the local blacks. "What's next, they sell drugs to our children"?  

The first episode of 'THE TERMINAL LIST' (Amazon Prime). If episode #1 is any indication, this is even better than the novel. I'll be bingeing this one this afternoon at Planet Fitness. 

1050am: PC is 'Off' and preparing to workout and be at Glenwood & Ash by 3pm. It's been steady to light showers since about 9am and to continue through early afternoon. 

1125am:  To Planet Fitness. 45"Cross.  45"Treadmill.  30"Bike. 30"Treadmill.  30"Cross and more of 'THE TERMINAL LIST' (AMAZON PRIME) and some of an old ARI SHAFFIR podcast with JOEY DIAZ. 

250pm-530pm: Thomas's First Birthday Party On Glenwood; Many, many people- more than on a major holiday. Tommy was in Jamie's arms for the entire party. They had Tommy sitting on the kitchen table in an inflatable kiddie pool filled with small balloons. Melissa's father had made delicious homemade vanilla ice cream.  The festivities went on far too long, but it was a very nice experience. Carol, Melissa's mom, gave me a bunch of fresh vegetables that were left over. She was responsible for the zucchini that Janny gave me a week or so ago.  

Had two Busch Lites and read more of 'KINDRED'.

Watched more of 'THE TERMINAL LIST' (Amazon Prime).

We 8/15/18 Up 820am; overcast, clammy, and threatening. Rain predicted all day and tomorrow- none so far; 915am. We 4/23/25- Gummy 645am {I took 1/4 of a 200 mg of 'DIET SMOKE' gummy: 50 mg total}. 650am (1-LB: Cookie Bread). 910am (1/2-LB: Cookie Bread).  1220pm (1-LB: Panama Punch). 535pm (1-LB: Permanent Marker). 815pm (1-LB: Permanent Marker).  Up 545am: A mix of suny & clouds with temps to about 80. Finished 'SIGNS' (Netflix). Clearly the drama hasn't ended, and I hope there will be infinite new seasons. {No such luck. I couldn't find anything about a third season}.
