Up 520am: Mostly sunny with temps to upper 80's.

Watched 'THE TALENTED MR. RIPLEY' (Netflix). I had forgotten how great this film was. Tom Ripley is hired by the father of Dickey Greenleaf to go to Italy, find Dickey, and convince him to come home. However, through a strange turn of events, Tom murders Dickey and 'becomes' the rich and debonair, Dickey Greenleaf. The murders continue to pile up and Tom finds that he can't keep up the ritzy lifestyle while keeping his friends and the police at bay; with Matt Damon, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jude Law, Cate Blanchett, Philip Seymour Hoffman, James Rebhorn, and Philip Baker Hall; from a novel by Patricia Highsmith. Nominated for 5 Oscars; 10 wins & 81 nominations: '76 Metascore'.

1020am: PC is 'Off' and preparing for an outing. First stop, Green for a car wash, then to Best Buy for the External Optical Reader, then to BLH to drop off the old 42" monitor and buy the new living room PC.  

1105: The Road to cross off the first item from the list;

Car wash. I forgot to ask if they were closing, but it didn't seem like it.

Best Buy $41; I noticed the 'computer section' and the guy said that what I wanted just happens to be on sale.

***BLH- I dragged the 42" monitor into the store and learned that it has been over two years that you could drop off recyclables near the front desk. The guy made me put it back in the trunk and drive it down to the end of their lot.  When I came back into the store and asked about a new PC he said that the $50 rebate can only be done on the day of the sale. 

A big hit in the lot of FitClub South. The front lobby is completely remodeled and it looks much better.

1220pm: 45" Precore (my favorite machine from years ago is still there!). 45"Treadmill.  30"Bike.  30"Treadmill. 30" Cross and watched 'LIFE AFTER LIFE' (AMAZON PRIME). A tale of 3 ex-cons as they try to reintegrate back into society. No new ground broken, began a 'KILL TONY,  and more of BRIAN REDBAN on J.R.E. 

A half a hit in the lot before the drive back to Westview. 

425pm:  In the tub with the bio of NELSON ALGREN and listening to RORY GALLAGHER- 'Deuce' and 'Live'.

Watched 'AV THE HUNT' (Netflix). A short and violent Turkish film about a woman who runs afoul of the indigenous patriarchal system. Because of her licentious ways, she is hunted down like an animal. Beautiful locations and the film was shot in Istanbul and Antalya, Turkey.

We 8/15/18 Up 820am; overcast, clammy, and threatening. Rain predicted all day and tomorrow- none so far; 915am. (All day and barely a sprinkle- it was happening all around us, but nothing here) Watched  'SUSPECT ZERO' (Amazon Prime) Aaron Eckhart/ Ben Kingsley/ Carrie Anne Moss.  Eckhart plays a disgraced FBI agent who is being fed information by a serial killer. Seems to be Ben Kingsley, but he's not the killer, he's an ex-agent who can do 'remote viewing'. Not bad, but close, however excellent and creative charcoal drawings as the 'hints' to Eckhart's character. We 4/23/25- Gummy 645am {I took 1/4 of a 200 mg of 'DIET SMOKE' gummy: 50 mg total}. 650am (1-LB: Cookie Bread). 910am (1/2-LB: Cookie Bread).  1220pm (1-LB: Panama Punch). 535pm (1-LB: Permanent Marker). 815pm (1-LB: Permanent Marker).  Up 545am: A mix of suny & clouds with temps to about 80. Finished 'SIGNS' (Netflix). Clearly the drama hasn't ended, and I hope there will be infinite new seasons. {No such luck. I couldn't find anything about a third season}. Pk northside, up the hill, Parkview, Fairway, and up to 940...ONE HOUR AND 35 MINUTES; ORNETTE COLEMAN Playlist; began a J.R.E. with an English podcaster. 9am: Janny called and they will be here after their appointment with Dax at 10am.   Watched more of 'HIGH TIDES' (Netflix)- The Belgian soap opera of 'all the beautiful people'. 1045am- 1235pm: She met one of her students who was a girl who is now a man. We exchanged books & Joe recommended an 'oiler' that fits under the belt of a treadmill. Melissa is now '2nd in command' at the Illinois Parole Board...
