Up 545am: Mostly sunny with temps almost to 80. A perfect summer day. 

Watched Netflix disc 'THE FRENCH DISPATCH'. A collection of four short stories from the final issue of 'The French Dispatch', the foreign bureau of the fictional newspaper, the Liberty Kansas Evening Sun. 1) A cycling reporter introduces the town of Ennui-sur Blase, France (the town's name is literally 'boredom on apathetic'. 1)  A madman is elevated to artistic fame. 2) The French Student Movement of 1968. 3) A kidnapping of a child detective; with Benicio Del Toro, Adrien Brody, Tilda Swinton, Frances McDormand, Lea Seydoux, Timothee Chalamet, Jeffrey Wright, Bill Murray, Owen Wilson, Bob Balaban, Henry Winkler, Elizabeth Moss, Lois Smith, and many other stars in very tiny parts. Directed by Wes Anderson. A gem of a film!  Nominated for 3 BAFTA Awards; 23 wins & 121 nominations.

10am: Will shut down a little early and walk downtown to mail the disc. 

1035am: To downtown...Parkview, Wash.Pk northside, Park, Edwards, Monroe PO, ASCEND, Edwards, Fairway, and up to 940...LED ZEPPELIN;  'Eat It'- HUMBLE PIE;  SKEPTIC TANK. 

Reading 'JACK & JILL'

330pm:  TWO MILES AT 4.0 PACE AND ZERO SLANT, finished JOEY'S JOINT with LEE SYATT, and began a SKEPTIC TANK. 

420pm: In the tub with 'JACK & JILL and listening to THE ERIC BURDON BAND; 'The Island Years'- SPOOKY TOOTH. 

Watched 'THE WORLD IS YOURS' (Netflix).  A French petty criminal tries to leave his life of crime after one last score and open a popsicle business in Northern Africa.  The film is full of gangs, guns, fast-paced dialog, and beautiful scenery and its very much like a Guy Richie movie. 

Watched an eight minute YouTube bio of Steve Marriott. His record company chose to back Peter Frampton and when Marriott complained he learned that the company was actually run by a NYC crime family and he never saw a dime. This documentary said that he died after lighting a cigarette in bed and he was found between the bed and the wall. I always thought he ran into a closet thinking that it was the exit.

We 8/15/18 Up 820am; overcast, clammy, and threatening. Rain predicted all day and tomorrow- none so far; 915am. (All day and barely a sprinkle- it was happening all around us, but nothing here) Watched  'SUSPECT ZERO' (Amazon Prime) Aaron Eckhart/ Ben Kingsley/ Carrie Anne Moss.  Eckhart plays a disgraced FBI agent who is being fed information by a serial killer. Seems to be Ben Kingsley, but he's not the killer, he's an ex-agent who can do 'remote viewing'. Not bad, but close, however excellent and creative charcoal drawings as the 'hints' to Eckhart's character. Another episode of 'I'M DYING UP HERE', and then another 'GLOW'. 250PM- Drove to FitClub West, then after the workout to the County Market on south sixth for beer and some groceries- and a dependable can opener! Th 10/2/25- WYNK

 Th 10/2/25 8am (1-LB: Diablo's Hearse). 10am (1-B: Citrus Mac). 1220pm (2-LB: Citrus Mac). 535pm (1-LB: Citrus Mac). 810pm (1-LB: Diablo's Hearse).  Up 715am: {took a dump at 4am}. Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80". Borrowed 'HOLY COW' and 'TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH' from Hoopla to meet my quota for September. Watched 'HOLY COW' (Hoopla). A troubled teen and his young sister try to make a go of it on their farmstead dairy after their father dies. It's got a strange tone and far from an average 'coming of age' tale. Set in far eastern France near the rural villages of Pimorin and Orgelet which are about 75 miles west of Geneva, Switzerland.
