Up 545am: Partly cloudy with a slight chance of rain late this afternoon and temps to mid 80's.
I noticed that light rain was falling when I came upstairs about 830pm Thursday night.

Janny sent an email last night that Joe has a cold and I suggested that they put off the 'gift giving' till next week. I would have liked to tell her that I'd be seeing them Friday evening at the restaurant, but I didn't want to negate the 'secret' (if it is a secret?). 

Watched 'THE NICE GUYS' (Netflix). A reviewer called the film 'Candy Noir' and that about sums it up. The outrageous premise is that in 1977 a porno film was released to demonstrate collusion between Detroit automakers and the US government to slow down the introduction of catalytic converters. And the film is just a wacky search through the underbelly of Los Angeles to locate the young actress who was featured in the film. The Comedy Store is briefly in the movie; with Russell Crowe, Ryan Gosling. 9 wins and 34 nominations.  The film is dedicated to 'Carmel Musgrove'. I checked the internet and learned that this woman was an assistant to the director, Joel Silver and was on a family vacation with the Silvers in Bora Bora,  got wasted on cocaine and booze, and drowned near their hotel. Silver and family were exonerated in the wrongful death suit.  

During the film I got an email from Janny saying that we'd wait until next week to meet up. But I'll be seeing them tomorrow night anyway. 

Weighing the options of whether to mow the lawn today or put it off till tomorrow. Then I noticed that there was some 'heavy mist/drizzle' in the air and decided to let it go until tomorrow. The guy next door usually mows his before me anyhow. And his lawn guys actually pulled up in front of my house as I was typing, but I'm heading to Esporta on the bike today. Tomorrow for the lawn.

1110am: The PC is 'Off' and preparing for an afternoon at Esporta.

11145pm: Bike to Esporta...45" Precor (no arms). 45"Treadmill.  30"Cross.  30"Bike.  30" Precor and watched the 2 hour documentary: THE GIRLFRIEND THAT DIDN'T EXIST' (NETFLIX)- Notre Dame football star, gets catfished then more of BOBBY LEE on THEO VON'S podcast, and another episode of 'MO' (NETFLIX).

445pm: In the tub with (BELLA MILANOS menu!!) NIGHTMARE ALLEY and listening to 'The Finest'- MILES DAVIS.

Watched part of the YouTube podcast from MARK NORMAND'S bachelor party on the beach in Tampa, Florida. 

Then more of 'THE DEFEATED' (Netflix).

We 8/15/18 Up 820am; overcast, clammy, and threatening. Rain predicted all day and tomorrow- none so far; 915am. (All day and barely a sprinkle- it was happening all around us, but nothing here) Watched  'SUSPECT ZERO' (Amazon Prime) Aaron Eckhart/ Ben Kingsley/ Carrie Anne Moss.  Eckhart plays a disgraced FBI agent who is being fed information by a serial killer.  Th 10/2/25 8am (1-LB: Diablo's Hearse). 10am (1-B: Citrus Mac). 1220pm (2-LB: Citrus Mac). 535pm (1-LB: Citrus Mac). 810pm (1-LB: Diablo's Hearse).  Up 715am: {took a dump at 4am}. Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80". Borrowed 'HOLY COW' and 'TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH' from Hoopla to meet my quota for September. Watched 'HOLY COW' (Hoopla). A troubled teen and his young sister try to make a go of it on their farmstead dairy after their father dies. It's got a strange tone and far from an average 'coming of age' tale. Set in far eastern France near the rural villages of Pimorin and Orgelet which are about 75 miles west of Geneva, Switzerland.
