Up 6am: Bright and sunny with temps to just over 80. Yesterday evening's storms looked like it could really get bad, but the worst of it missed us. I did find a pretty big branch under the tree in the front yard but the rain gauge only showed a quarter of an inch.
I dropped Buddy off at Brewer right at 730am. It might take until late this afternoon...or not. I guess it depends on what they find. He seemed very upbeat and chipper this morning and I hope he's in the pink.
I drove over to County Market/ Fairhills and they were resurfacing the parking lot. It's really going to be a mess when people start coming in to shop. I was home and the groceries were put away by 815am; $77 (didn't buy beer).
Watched 'OFF AND RUNNING' (Amazon Prime- leaves 9/1). Shoestring production, yet very compelling. A profile of a Avery, young black girl who was adopted by a white/Jewish lesbian couple and she has two adopted brothers, one Korean and one black and Puerto Rican. When Avery was about sixteen decided that she wanted to have contact with her birth mother. This causes a huge upheaval within the family and changes the course of their lives. When she was in Jewish elementary school everyone would ask her questions about race and she could say that she was just like them. She had white parents and she is being raised Jewish. Her adopted brother (who was accepted to Princeton) says that she feels too much like she was born to be certain things, but he feels that he was born to create what he wants to be. A very thought provoking documentary. Shot in Brooklyn, NY.
I watched a seven minute YouTube clip with the director and Avery.
1120am: PC is 'Off' and will hit the streets for a walk.
1130am: Buddy's diagnosed
1210pm: Parkview, Wash Pk. southside, Wiggins, Outer Park, Lincoln, Leland, Walnut, Wash Pk. northside, up the hill, Parkview, Kenyon, and down to 940...TWO HOURS...'Teenage Licks'- STONE THE CROWS.
Reading 'GENTKILL'
405pm: TWO MILES AT 4.0 PACE AND ZERO SLANT and began DAVE MUSTAIN (METALLICA) on J.R.E.
455pm: In the tub with GENTKILL and listening to ROY BUCHANAN; KING SUNNY ADE.
Feel lousy from taking the antihistamines. My nose is running like a faucet but the sluggish and almost a hangover feeling from the pills makes me wonder if it's worth it. Using the Vicks to keep the nostrils from getting sore.
Staring at the monitor while SKEPTIC TANK played, then the first episode of season #3 'I AM A KILLER' (Netflix). A Missouri woman (Vicky Smith) shoots her husband ten times in the head and gets a 'life plus 25 years'. The sister of the murderer writes a book that says Vicky's son did the deed, but there is no real evidence supporting this claim and even Vicky won't say what really happened. A very strange case. 365 north church street, what city in Missouri?
