 We 9/14/22

720am (B). 950am (2-B). 1210pm (B). 450pm (2- gr/wh). 635pm (B).

Up 530am: Bright and sunny with temps to about 82.

***I wrote up 'THE CITY' by Dean Koontz for the blog, paid the card, and ran the Windows Updates. The upstairs PC wanted me to sign into Windows Microsoft and I checked 'maybe later'.

Steve Coleman is the alto sax player that did SYNOVIAL JOINTS. Put more of his stuff on Amazon Music.

Watched 'HAND ROLLED CIGARETTE' (Netflix). A British-Chinese ex-serviceman turns 'hoodlum/loser' and becomes involved with a 'brownie' (Indian) and they enter a war with local gang bosses. Dizzying plot that involves pounds of cocaine and turtle smuggling (?) with over-the-top scenes of violence. However, the saving grace was that the film had a convincing 'Noir' tone- Well worth a look.  Directed by Kin Long Chan.

Watched more of 'METALLICA: SOME KIND OF MONSTER' (Netflix). The movie is followed by a 30 minute review and a teaser for their next film, 'THROUGH THE NEVER'. I just learned that this film is also on Netflix and it's in the queue. After finally completing 'Some Kind of Monster', I think I like the documentary a whole lot more. Losing the bass player , having the lead musician leave the band for rehab, and recording the process on film with an 'in house' therapist now seems like a fantastic idea for a film. I'm still not a real fan of the music, but the doc was well worth a look.

1125am: PC is 'Off' and preparing to take the bike to Esporta.

1220pm: On bike to Esporta. 45"Cross Precor.  45"Treadmill. 30"Bike.  30"Cross.  30" Cross Precor and watched an episode of ' I SURVIVED A CRIME' (NETFLIX) ; 'THE SINS OF OUR MOTHER' (NETFLIX) ; more DR. GABOR MATE on J.R.E.

***green hoodie (m) arrived. Look Sharp!

450pm: In the tub with 'FALSE MEMORY' and listening to STEVE COLEMAN & FIVE ELEMENTS.

Watched 'WHITEY: UNITED STATES OF AMERICA V. JAMES J. BULGER (AMAZON PRIME). Bulger was definitely a violent crime boss that ran the biggest criminal enterprise in Boston, but was he protected by the FBI because he was buying off agents or was he in the employ of the agency as a confidential informant?  There is evidence to support both sides of the argument.  Jack Nicholson's  character in 'THE DEPARTED' was based on Whitey Bulger.
