Up 6am: Coldest day of the season with temps only to lower 40's with plenty of sunshine.
Watched 'CLAIR OBSCUR' (Netflix). It's a Turkish Art Film about a young (underaged) woman who is forced into an arranged marriage and may (or may not) have killed her husband and mother in law. The young woman is placed in a mental facility and her female therapist has a violent breakup with her lover when he discovers that she's found someone else. The message seems to be that women of orthodox faiths have unsatisfying and troubled relationships, but so do women with a more free and modernistic outlook. This is a difficult film to watch, but well worth the effort. Filmed near Istanbul, Turkey. 9 wins & 13 nominations.
Then (for something a little lighter) I watched 'For Jojo' (Netflix). Two contemporary German young women have been very close friends since childhood, but when Jojo falls in love with a man and wants to get married, Paula is not having any of it. An ambiguous ending because although the wedding goes as planned, Paula's life is still unresolved. Another interesting Art Film and it was shot on the islands of Pellworm and Sylt and Berlin, Germany.
Wrote an email to Janny asking for a date that would work for my upcoming colonoscopy. Also, I told her that she can watch a season of Harry Bosch on Freevee.
1245pm: PC is 'Off' and preparing for a walk on the treadmill.
105pm: FIVE MILES AT 3.9 PACE AND ZERO SLANT and watched the first episode of 'THE WATCHER' (NETFLIX) and then began a TUESDAYS WITH STORIES.
Weights- 3 sets/ 15 reps
Finished the exceptional novel by Gore Vidal- 'JULIAN'. A Galilean killed Julian Augustas to save the world from Hellenism.
4pm: TWO MILES AT 3.9 PACE AND ZERO SLANT and more of a J.R.E.
450pm: In the tub to begin 'NAKED LUNCH'- WILLIAM BURROUGHS and listening to JOHN COLTRANE Playlist.
More 'THE WATCHER' (Netflix). I finished episode #3 and it's a cut about a Stephen King treatment of the standard 'haunted house' genre. Maybe it's more like Dean Koontz would have handled it. A lot of comedic actors help to make it seem even more strange- 'humor' alongside 'dread'.
