Watched 'NOISE' (Netflix). An elderly woman tries to get the police to find out what happened to her daughter who went missing. She learns that the problem of 'the missing' is endemic to contemporary Mexican society. Since the beginning of the 'Drug War' Mexican authorities say that the number of 'missing persons' is over 90,000. This is very much an 'art film' and it's well done and creates an effective tone of dread and hopelessness. Fun Fact: Julieta Egurrola (the lead actress in the movie) is the mother of director and writer of the movie; Natalia Beristáin.

Watched 'WELCOME TO KUTSHER'S: The Last Catskills Resort' (Amazon Prime). A profile of the longest running Borscht Belt resort hotel in the Catskill Mountains of New York State (12 miles from the site of Woodstock, 1969). It was owned and operated by a single family from the early 1900's till 2013. Originally it was marketed as a place for New York city Jews to take their families on vacation. They originated the idea of an 'all inclusive vacation' and three meals a day and free entertainment were included in the price of a stay.  

1130am: PC is 'Off' and preparing for a walk on the treadmill. Tomorrow I begin the 'diet before the procedure'. When I hit Planet Fitness tomorrow I'll buy some eggs and other stuff to see me through Wednesday.

***Just as I finished 3 miles the belt began to slip. I got off and called Body Quest. They'll call back within a few days to arrange a visit: $150.

***Crazy Timing: David Crosby died yesterday  and this afternoon I got his video biography in the mail, and it was far, far better than I expected it to be. 

Watched Netflix disc 'DAVID CROSBY: Remember My Name'.  Even he admits that he's an asshole, but at the very least he's brutally honest. He's a classic example of someone who really does have more talent than ego, so I guess he can be forgiven. I wonder if he ever made up with Graham Nash.

We 8/15/18 Up 820am; overcast, clammy, and threatening. Rain predicted all day and tomorrow- none so far; 915am. Finished 'SIGNS' (Netflix). Clearly the drama hasn't ended, and I hope there will be infinite new seasons. {No such luck. I couldn't find anything about a third season}.
