Sa 2/4/23- Treadmill Repair/830am... 3pm-415pm: $225/ Buddy Sick
650am (B). 920am (1-SB). 435pm (2-B). 7pm (2-B).
Up 505am: Partly sunny, breezy with temps to 50.
***I awoke to Buddy throwing up right outside the bedroom door. However, I fed him the Friskies about 520am and he gobbled it right down and even ate the crunchies. He seems in fine shape and he was resting right behind me while I worked at the PC.
Watched 'OUT OF LIFE' (Netflix). A French war photographer is kidnapped by fighters in Beirut, Lebanon and the film highlights the psychological deterioration of his character. The terror is unrelenting as he desperately clings to sanity. This film is real and compelling and nothing at all like a 'Hollywood' film.
***845am: I got a call from Tony, Body Quest repair guy, saying that he's having car trouble and has to get a new battery, but he's still coming over today... Mr. Unreliable.
Began 'THE SNOW GIRL' (Netflix). I didn't expect to watch quite so much of this, but it's 1pm and Tony is still a no show. It wasn't until episode #4 that we learned that the girl was kidnapped by a couple who were patients at a fertility clinic and the girl's real mother was their doctor. That's a bit of a stretch but the series is based on a Spanish novel. I shut it down 21 minutes into episode #5 and I might finish it off tonight (if I don't receive the two discs from Netflix that should have arrived on Thursday). Set in Malaga, Spain- On the southern coast, 85 miles northeast from Gibraltar.
***I sent Tony a text at 110pm to ask if we're still on for the installation today.
130pm: PC is 'Off' and will read for a bit and try to figure out what's next...'The waiting is the hardest part'- TOM PETTY...I had planned to walk to the Heartland Credit Union and see if I can get my debit card to withdraw 'free' cash at their ATM.
145pm: FIVE MILES AT 4.0 PACE AND ZERO SLANT; Dr. Carl Hart on J.R.E.
I had just walked off the treadmill and Tony, the repairman, was at the front door ringing the 'non-ringing' doorbell. His wife was in the car and she was gesturing to him to come to the breezeway. Tony was freaked out because the old woman's pit-bull was running wild. Such a friendly dog, but people that didn't know him are usually terrified (me too). He said that his wife 'liked to stay in the car and watch Netflix'. I did NOT invite her into the house.

Pitbull running wild
3pm-415pm: $225
440pm: In the tub with 'STRANGER IN A STRANGE LAND' and listening to XTC Playlist; GUIDED BY VOICES Playlist; KING CRIMSON Playlist.
More of SHANE GILLIS on THEO VON
I got two discs in the mail and began the Netflix disc 'THE DUKE'. An eccentric British man has lived 'to fight for the common man' and he 'borrows' a painting worth $140,000 from a national gallery and tries to give the proceeds back to 'the masses'. His heart's in the right place, but his head is up his ass, but it's a charming film, nonetheless. I shut it down at 1 hr. and 3 minutes with 32 minutes left to go.
