We 3/1/23

750am (B). 1230pm (B).  440pm (2-B). 655pm (2-B).

Up 640am: Partly sunny with temps just over 60.

Watched 'NORTHERN SOUL' (Kanopy). A fantastic film about a young man who discovers a very specific musical scene that caught fire in the English Midlands (north of Birmingham). It was the late 60's and obscure American Soul was played while fans lost their minds dancing. The dance floor was more spirited than Disco and was largely influenced by Bruce Lee karate moves and fueled by handfuls of amphetamines. This film was a very pleasant surprise; written and directed by Elaine Constantine.  Shot near Blackburn, England; 30 miles north of Manchester.

I playlisted a compilation of 'Northern Soul'. I wasn't familiar with any of the artists and it sounds like a revved up Motown and I like it.

I found another film that featured one of the stars of 'NORTHERN SOUL', Elliot James Langridge.

***Hassle changing the date on the Timex Expedition. I pulled the entire stem out of the watch, but shoved it back in and I was able to adjust the date and correct the time. I thought the watch was a goner.

Began 'WE THE KINGS' (Plex-TV). A violent man on the run breaks into a house that he thought was abandoned, but he discovers that he's sharing the flat with a decrepit old man. I shut it down at 43 minutes and will continue this tonight.

1145am: PC is 'Off' and preparing for a long walk as temps are already above sixty degrees.

Weights:  3 sets/  15 reps

1245pm: Parkview,  Wash.Pk southside,  Vine, Walnut, Wash.Pk northside, Lincoln, Monroe,  County Market for oatmeal & tall kitchen bags, Chatham, Fairway,  and up to 940...ONE HOUR AND 45 MINUTES...ORNETTE COLEMAN Playlist; CHRIS DISTEFANO on J.R.E.

***Reading glasses are missing. I had them to fuck with the watch and now gone. However, I have 2 extra pairs.

***I located glasses on the keyboard tray of the upstairs PC desk. I cannot believe that they got there or that I spotted them.

Reading 'EXPOSURE'

350pm: TWO MILES AT 4.0 PACE AND ZERO SLANT; began BILL BURR on THE LIARS CLUB.

445pm:  In the tub with 'EXPOSURE' and listening to NORTHERN SOUL Playlist; EMERSON LAKE & PALMER- 'Tarkus'/ 'Brain Salad Surgery'.

More of BILL BURR on THE LIARS CLUB

Watched 'In Bright Axiom' (Amazon Prime). A strange documentary about 'the Latitude Society'(San Francisco, CA) which is 'Immersive Art' designed as a combination of performance-art and live-action-role-playing games. It seemed very 'cult-like' and they didn't ask for money until they did. "Is this a religion or a cult or is it role playing entertainment for consenting adults?" At the end of the film it seems that it failed, but I'll bet that something like this continues to exist.
