***Around 630am I was using IMDB to find a review on 'REQUIEM' (Netflix) and the website took control of the PC and said 'Do not turn off the computer and call this number 1-888-973-4765'.  I did a restart and everything is fine.  I called the number and although the guy would not say that he was connected to Microsoft he said that 'he would help'. It was clearly a scam and it freaked me out.

Watched 'IN FOR A MURDER' (Netflix). It's a clever and amusing story of a married woman who has a talent for sleuthing and tries to find out what happened to her best friend. A current murder seems to be connected to the disappearance and when she solves the case she also frees herself from a stale marriage. If this were an American film I don't think they would allow such an unconcerned view of marriage.  Set in Podkowa Lesna, Poland which is about 19 miles southwest of Warsaw. I really liked this film.

More 'SLEEPING DOG' (Netflix). I shut it down 40 minutes into episode #5 and only have an hour to go to finish the series. I'll complete it tomorrow night.

We 8/15/18 Up 820am; overcast, clammy, and threatening. Rain predicted all day and tomorrow- none so far; 915am. Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80". Borrowed 'HOLY COW' and 'TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH' from Hoopla to meet my quota for September. Watched 'HOLY COW' (Hoopla). A troubled teen and his young sister try to make a go of it on their farmstead dairy after their father dies. It's got a strange tone and far from an average 'coming of age' tale.
