***Buddy was sick a few times last night. He seemed OK this morning but didn't touch the Friskies and ate the dry food. 

Late in the afternoon when I came back from Esporta Buddy hadn't eaten his food. But I put some more on the plate and he gobbled it down. He is sleeping far more than I remember. At least he hasn't been sick again.

Wrote up 'MANHATTAN IS MY BEAT' by Jeffery Deaver.

Watched Netflix disc 'THE MENU'. A dark satire about an evening at a highly rated, 5 star restaurant on a remote island where the diabolical chef sacrifices 'the foodies' (and himself) for the 'god of nourishment'. You never guess what's about to happen and it was deadpan and side splitting at the same time; with Ralph Fiennes, Anya Taylor-Joy, Nicholas Hoult, Hong Chau (THE WHALE), and John Leguizamo.  

Watched 'FROM ONE SECOND TO THE NEXT' (Netflix- 34"). Directed by Werner Herzog. A few victims of text driving accidents talk about the brief moment that completely changed their lives- a guy plows into the back of a horse & buggy, a woman is knocked to the ground while walking her dog to the mailbox in front of her house, an eight year old black boy is run down while his sister held his hand crossing a street, a man crosses the centerline, hits another vehicle and spins it into oncoming traffic. The car is  'T-bonded' and two men are killed. An effective cautionary tale yet I wonder why Werner Herzog became involved with this project. 

***It's after 10am and Buddy has eaten a plate of his food. He's been watching the breezeway all morning. 

1030am: The PC is 'Off' and the plan is to workout at Esporta and then hit the vitamin store (and mailing the disc at the box on Drawbridge).

Finished 'MISSING KENLEY' (Amazon Prime). In September of 1992 a Canadian college boy disappeared and was never seen again. Twenty five years later a woman came to an investigator and said that her brother had something to do with the missing college student. Her brother might have been involved sexually with the missing guy and the brother is a transsexual and these days 'presents' as a woman. Nothing was really solved and they really tried to get to the bottom of the case because the series was almost five hours long. I've seen more complicated cases presented in forty five minutes.

We 8/15/18 Up 820am; overcast, clammy, and threatening. Rain predicted all day and tomorrow- none so far; 915am.  Th 10/2/25 8am (1-LB: Diablo's Hearse). 10am (1-B: Citrus Mac). 1220pm (2-LB: Citrus Mac). 535pm (1-LB: Citrus Mac). 810pm (1-LB: Diablo's Hearse).  Up 715am: {took a dump at 4am}. Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80". A troubled teen and his young sister try to make a go of it on their farmstead dairy after their father dies. It's got a strange tone and far from an average 'coming of age' tale. Set in far eastern France near the rural villages of Pimorin and Orgelet which are about 75 miles west of Geneva, Switzerland.
