Watched 'THE MAURITANIAN'(Netflix). American intelligence services held a man at Guantanamo for over fourteen years without hard evidence.  Mauritania is a desert country in Northwest Africa. Based on real events; with Tahar Rahim, Jodie Foster, Shailene Woodley, and Benedict Cumberbatch. Nominated for 5 BAFTA Awards; 5 wins & 19 nominations. 53" Metascore.

1020am: PC is 'Off' and it's the treadmill for today.

1045am: FIVE MILES AT 4.0 PACE AND ZERO SLANT; finished ANDREW SANTINO on 'Blocks'; began BUDDY GUY on WTF.

445pm: In the tub with 'CONFEDERATES' and listening to BLUES PROJECT- 'Projections'; YARDBIRDS Playlist. 

Finished ROB ZOMBIE podcast and 'NIGHTMARE IN SUBURBIA'. A deranged woman steals a baby. Hoodwinks the mother and her nine year old daughter by saying she works for a retail store and they want to give the woman a refund.

More 'THE PATIENTS OF DR. GARCIA' (Netflix), but I just couldn't suppress the trashy compulsion to begin 'SHINY HAPPY PEOPLE: Duggar Family Secrets' (Amazon Prime). Bill Gothard- Evangelical pastor; 'Quiverfull Movement'- fill the world with Christians to influence policy: 'Institute in Basic Life Principles'- IBLP Movement. I shut it down 15 minutes into episode #2. At the very least, Home Schooling should be made illegal unless it is highly regulated by the state.

We 8/15/18 Up 820am; overcast, clammy, and threatening. Rain predicted all day and tomorrow- none so far; 915am. (All day and barely a sprinkle- it was happening all around us, but nothing here) Watched  'SUSPECT ZERO' (Amazon Prime) Aaron Eckhart/ Ben Kingsley/ Carrie Anne Moss.  Eckhart plays a disgraced FBI agent who is being fed information by a serial killer. Seems to be Ben Kingsley, but he's not the killer, he's an ex-agent who can do 'remote viewing'. Not bad, but close, however excellent and creative charcoal drawings as the 'hints' to Eckhart's character. Another episode of 'I'M DYING UP HERE', and then another 'GLOW'. 250PM- Drove to FitClub West, then after the workout to the County Market on south sixth for beer and some groceries- and a dependable can opener! Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80". Borrowed 'HOLY COW' and 'TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH' from Hoopla to meet my quota for September. Watched 'HOLY COW' (Hoopla). A troubled teen and his young sister try to make a go of it on their farmstead dairy after their father dies. It's got a strange tone and far from an average 'coming of age' tale. Set in far eastern France near the rural villages of Pimorin and Orgelet which are about 75 miles west of Geneva, Switzerland.
