Up 530am: Mostly sunny and breezy with gusts over 25mph & temps to the upper 80's.

***Not a single drop of rain fell on Westview last night. I cannot believe that this massive storm missed the west end and the next chance of rain is not until Friday. 

Did the Weekly Cleaning, wet mopped upstairs, and mopped the litter box area downstairs.

Watched 'NOISE' (Netflix).  A couple with a new baby move into the husband's family home so that they can be close to his father who is suffering from dementia and lives in a nearby nursing home. The young parents are busy. He is an online influencer and she is a caterer. The influencer is trying to uncover the truth about an accident that happened many years ago at his father's factory. This storyline is never really fully developed and the movie just dwells on the downward spiral of the young couple. The themes of dread & unease are effective, but the drama doesn't hold up. This Dutch film only deserves a 'C' at best.

1025am: PC is 'Off' and maybe I'll do the treadmill or maybe a walk. 

1120am:  FIVE MILES AT 4.1 PACE AND ZERO SLANT; finished JOSH HOMME on Blocks; began BERT KREISCHER on TIGER BELLY.

Gave up on 'CHILDWOLD' on p. 135 & began 'HOLLYWOOD' by GORE VIDAL. 

355pm:  TWO MILES AT 4.1 PACE AND ZERO SLANT; finished BERT KREISCHER on TIGER BELLY. 

 445pm: In the tub 'HOLLYWOOD'  [dumped 'HOLLYWOOD' for a True Crime], 'THE MORMON MURDERS' by Naifeh & Smith and listening to QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE Playlist. 

***When I was using the beard trimmer late this morning the attachment slipped off and I gouged out an area on my chin. I tried to 'blend', but by late afternoon I was still unsatisfied so after the bath, I shaved the beard. Now I just have a mustache.  

Began WHITNEY CUMMINGS talk with a pornstar, Angela White. 

More 'SLEEPING DOG' (Netflix). I shut it down 23 minutes into episode #4.

We 8/15/18 Up 820am; overcast, clammy, and threatening. Rain predicted all day and tomorrow- none so far; 915am. Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80".
