Did the Weekly Cleaning

Watched 'MISSING' (Netflix). A woman and her boyfriend fly to Colombia for a much needed getaway and leave her seventeen year old daughter home alone and she's ready to party. However, it seems that mom and boyfriend have been kidnapped and then the plot really thickens. It's the biological father of the girl who is behind the mayhem. Mom was abused by this man and she sent him to prison for dealing drugs and now he's out to get revenge. Crazy plot twists abound and the movie is mostly conveyed through shots of a computer monitor or phone screen. An enjoyable film with second tier actors- a fun ride! Filmed in Los Angeles and Cartagena, Colombia. "66" Metascore.

Began ILIZA SHLESINGER on 'Blocks'.

Began 'VORTEX' (Netflix). In 1998 a young French mother left her husband and baby to go for an early morning run. She's found dead at the bottom of a cliff and it's presumed that she fell during the run. In 2025 the husband is a police detective and during a 'Virtual Reality crime scene investigation'(drones record the crime scene and then it can be played back in a 360 degree diarama) he sees his wife who died almost thirty years ago. Great idea, and I hope they can keep it together for the entire series. Set in Brest, France which is located on the Celtic Sea along the coast in northwestern France. Shut it down 6 minutes into episode #2.

I first thought that they were for the house across the street, but it looks like the action is farther down the road. Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80".
