Fr 6/30/23- POWER OUTAGE

 Fr 6/30/23- Power Outage

720am (2-B), 3pm (1-B).

Up 6am: Sunny and temps to about 90 with a chance of storms later in the afternoon.

605am- listened to a little of Greg Bishop WMAY on the phone..."7pm curfew last night and over 30,000 in Springfield without service and no guess when restored".

630am: Put phone on charge in the Elantra. One Hr 14 mins to full charge, but I left it on for only 30 minutes to see what that would do. It didn't seem to work with the engine 'off'.

730am-940am: Parkview, Wash. Pk. southside, Wiggins, Outer Park, Lincoln, Leland, Walnut, Wash. Pk. northside, up the road, Parkview, Fairway, and up to 940... 2 HOURS AND 10 MINUTES. I noticed near perfect stacks of branches along Wiggins. It looked like it they were arranged by either engineers or artists.

Cherry & Wiggins- intersection completely blocked by downed telephone poles and branches.

Three poles down at Kenyon & Parkview. At 10am the trucks arrived. This is probably the biggest holdup to getting back the power in my area.

Janny called: 1110am-1140am: They have power, but some people on their block are without juice. Very random. I talked with the guy next door and he mentioned that he was separated from his wife and looking at divorce. He seems like a nice guy.

130pm- 225pm: On the bike. Oakmont, Bellerive, Almost to mall and back.

230pm-420pm: Sitting on the breezeway and reading 'THE MORMAN MURDERS'. Charging the phone but very slow. It's about 1 minute per 1 percentage.

***3pm***

Poles arrived on Kenyon!

I noticed the old lady's house next door has a generator and it's loud.

445pm- Walked to Kenyon & Parkview to check on progress. Ten guys present, but not much progress. One 45ft number '4' pole on the ground and waiting for installation.

515pm: 2 beers in the living room.

6pm: Janny called and said that they were at Jamie's house cleaning up damage and they would swing by and help me disconnect the garage door from the electric opener. We got it released but couldn't get it back. I'll have to call LiftMaster.

Reading on the breezeway and finished THE MORMON MURDERS.

830pm-9pm: I walked to Kenyon and was surprised that they had gotten so far in a couple of hours. I walked to Fairway and noticed that many along that street have power.

2am: I awoke to massive heat lightning, but it didn't rain until quite a bit later. In the morning I noticed that over two inches of rain fell and this caused more branches to fall all over the area.
