Mo 7/3/23- POWER OUTAGE/ Buddy Sick
810am (1-B). 145pm(1-B). 7pm(1-B). 825pm (1-B).
Up 610am; Bight & sunny with temps to upper 80's.
***Buddy very sick. This morning he was sleeping in my chair in the corner of the living room. He seems very lethargic and I put the medicine in his ear and he didn't want to get off the chair.
I got a text that Jamie and Melissa now have power. The text came in at 11pm last night. Jamie's family were on vacation to Mount Rushmore and the Black Hills. They were staying at a large KOA campground in the area.
815am: To Wash. Pk. Parkview, (ASPLUNDH CONSTRUCTION was doing the pole work. Not ATT- 5 gus and many trucks but no action), Wash. Pk. southside, northside, up the hill, Parkview, Fairway...ONE HOUR AND 30 MINUTES.
***Buddy was still in the chair and very lethargic. At 1025am he ate more and kept it down. I fed him a little more at 1145am but threw it up at 1210pm. 1215pm I called Brewer and got an appointment for 430pm. I was happy to get it because they would be closed on Tuesday the Fourth of July.
150pm: Bike Ride: ONE HOUR- South parallel to Chatham west of the private golf course beyond Cherry and almost to the mall.
Reading 'ABE LINCOLN- VAMPIRE HUNTER'
415pm: to Brewer. The results: No gel pen till at least Wednesday and he'll call just after closing (6pm) to tell me about the blood work. I had Dr. Kirk- $219.13.
Hosed down the cat carrier. Looks brand new.
Reading 530pm and I noticed a guy with a CWLP vest walking in front of the house. He asked me if there were any downed lines behind my house and I showed him. He said they were just old telephone lines or part of a cable network. He said power would be restored 'in a couple of days'.
630pm-7pm- On the phone with Joe and Janny. Jamie at his family are due back tonight by 9pm.
830pm-9pm: Walked, Fairway, Pasfield Golf Course and over to Washington Park Carillon and this is the first time that I had been back around the 'flower building' and noticed 'Roman Cultural Society (1971)' pillars. The lighting and courtyard really looks good in the evening. On the way back along Parkview I noticed that the people on the southside of Parkview have power, but those on the northside do not. A 30 minute walk but a bit too humid.
Before I left on the walk I noticed a bucket truck working on the sagging transformer behind Bob and Carol's house. This pole must be crucial to the people on that side of Westview and the homes on Greenview.
