Watched Netflix disc 'THE TRUFFLE HUNTERS'. A profile of the reclusive men and their trusted dogs who hunt for rare (and expensive) delicacies in the Piedmont region of northern Italy. The men are of advanced age but still very much involved in the process of the hunt. Very well done. 9 wins & 22 nominations. '84" Metascore. Shot and set in the Piedmont area of Italy; just northeast of Monaco in the mountains near Turin.

The Hollywood Reporter: "...directed, produced and shot this captivating vérité documentary, which finds humor, charm and poignancy in the crusty eccentrics and their adored canine companions who sniff out the aromatic tubers, usually under the secretive cloak of night."   

Finished '1899' (Netflix). "Hello sister, welcome to reality". There is a fifty minute Bonus Feature about the making of '1899'. I will watch that tonight. 

1115am: The PC is 'off' and the plan is to do the weights and then walk downtown to mail back the disc.

Reading, finished 'TIME TUNNEL' and began 

355pm;: TWO MILES AT 4.1 PACE AND ZERO SLANT; more 'Being Ian & Jordan' with TOM SEGURA. 

450pm: In the tub to begin 'THE WRECKAGE OF AGATHON' by John Gardner  and listening to DEEP PURPLE- 'Come Taste The Band'; TOMMY BOLIN- '40th Anniversary Live'; JAMES GANG- 'Miami'/ 'Bang'.

Watched 'THE MAKING OF 1899' (Netflix). "A virtual production facility, often known as Volume, is simply a massive high-performance display that is a filmmaker’s dream come true in many respects. It also has an industry-first revolving stage – a motor-driven 360-degree turntable that permits the filming of genuine sets from various angles without requiring conversion delays. The “Brain Bar,” which holds 13 high-performance workstations, controls the virtual studio. To be able to switch between photorealistic backgrounds at will, to include effects in-camera rather than shooting against a green screen and adding effects in post, to use the massive walls of panels as variable and creative lighting — it truly is a box of toys that creators have only begun to unpack."

Began 'BURN THE HOUSE DOWN' (Netflix). Finished episode #1 and it's a little 'soapy' but the revenge plot is kind of interesting. One more ought to do it...or not.

We 8/15/18 Up 820am; overcast, clammy, and threatening. Rain predicted all day and tomorrow- none so far; 915am. (All day and barely a sprinkle- it was happening all around us, but nothing here) Watched  'SUSPECT ZERO' (Amazon Prime) Aaron Eckhart/ Ben Kingsley/ Carrie Anne Moss.  Eckhart plays a disgraced FBI agent who is being fed information by a serial killer. Seems to be Ben Kingsley, but he's not the killer, he's an ex-agent who can do 'remote viewing'. Not bad, but close, however excellent and creative charcoal drawings as the 'hints' to Eckhart's character. Finished 'SIGNS' (Netflix). Clearly the drama hasn't ended, and I hope there will be infinite new seasons. {No such luck. I couldn't find anything about a third season}.
