Up 510am: Hot & humid with temps to upper 90's. I've got the windows open (530am but closed by 830am) but probably not for long and 90's are in the forecast until next Wednesday.

***Last night as I came upstairs to fix dinner a fierce storm raged outside. I had been looking at the weather radar  while it was happening and nothing was on the screen but for a short while Westview was flooded and it was really coming down. I checked the rain guage this morning and we got about a quarter inch- a solid soaking.   

Spent time culling through the new films at Kanopy (they've got 'THE TRIANGLE OF SADNESS') & Hoopla...and I settled on a Netflix selection. 

Watched 'THEY CLONED TYRONE' (Netflix). A small-time drug dealer in an American ghetto (The Glen) is gunned down and miraculously comes back to life. With the help of a pimp and a prostitute they uncover a national conspiracy that employs genetics to keep urban blacks in an inescapable cycle of poverty and early death. It's funny,  insightful and boasts an arresting visual style; with John Boyega, Jamie Foxx, Teyonah Parris, and Kiefer Sutherland. The sign on the local liquor store reads: "GOT DRANKS".

Watched a YouTube Review/ Ending Explained and I didn't miss much. 

Began 'ALL THE BEAUTY AND THE BLOODSHED' (Kanopy).  A documentary about the Sackler family's responsibility for the opioid crisis. The film highlights their media campaign to make it appear that their lavish philanthropy absolves them of culpability.  The doc also charts the photographic career of Nan Goldin and how her addiction (and recovery) to Oxy motivated her to bring down the pharmaceutical giant. I shut it down at 56 minutes with 105 left to go. 

1215pm: PC is 'Off' and preparing for a walk on the treadmill.

***1230pm: Another invisible cloud burst and nothing on the weather radar. I think it's just so humid that anything is possible at any moment. A quarter of an inch fell according to the rain gauge.

1245pm: FIVE MILES AT 4.1 PACE AND ZERO SLANT; I downloaded the Kanopy app and finished 'ALL THE BEAUTY AND THE BLOODSHED'; more of DUNCAN TRUSSELL on J.R.E.

 445pm:  In the tub with 'RANSOM' and listening to a new to Amazon Unlimited, GRATEFUL DEAD Live; 'Voodoo Blues'- ALVIN LEE/ PAGE/ JONES; LESLIE WEST- 'Blues Town Die For; PAUL BUTTERFIELD BLUES BAND- 'Best of'; ALBERT COLLINS- 'Don't Lose Your Cool'.

More of 'BURN DOWN THE HOUSE' (Netflix). I shut it down 9 minutes into the final episode. Now it looks like the reclusive son set the fire or is he covering for somebody else? I'll finish this tomorrow.

We 8/15/18 Up 820am; overcast, clammy, and threatening. Rain predicted all day and tomorrow- none so far; 915am. We 4/23/25- Gummy 645am {I took 1/4 of a 200 mg of 'DIET SMOKE' gummy: 50 mg total}. 650am (1-LB: Cookie Bread). 910am (1/2-LB: Cookie Bread).  1220pm (1-LB: Panama Punch). 535pm (1-LB: Permanent Marker). 815pm (1-LB: Permanent Marker).  Up 545am: A mix of suny & clouds with temps to about 80. Finished 'SIGNS' (Netflix). Clearly the drama hasn't ended, and I hope there will be infinite new seasons. {No such luck. I couldn't find anything about a third season}.
