Watched 'WAR OF THE WORLDS' (Netflix). Very loosely based on the novel by H.G. Wells. MESSAGE/ THEME: The invaders are defeated, not by any advanced technology developed by humankind, but by Earth's microorganisms that infect and kill the aliens. Our immunity is our shield against intergalactic aggression. Directed by Steven Spielberg; with Tom Cruise, Dakota Fanning, Tim Robbins, and Miranda Otto. Nominated for 3 Oscars; 16 wins & 49 nominations. "73" Metascore.  Filmed near Bayonne, New Jersey.

Finished 'THE 43' (Netflix). Authorities maintain that the students were killed and then burned, however, independent experts show that this was impossible. Then the authorities say that it was a drug cartel based in Chicago working with local militants that executed the students because there was several million dollars worth of heroin on the two buses that the students hijacked. I can't believe that an operation that big (men, vehicles, armaments) could be stifled because many participants 'on the firing line' would have been compromised and talked. Of course, if the investigators were only working to confuse the issue then this is about what you could expect.

550pm: In the tub with 'RICH MAN POOR MAN' and listening to JOHN MAYALL- 'Blues From Laurel Canyon'/ 'A Hard Road'; LED ZEPPELIN- ' X Led Zeppelin'.

Finished DAN SODER on WHISKEY GINGER and began ARE YOU GARBAGE? on TIGER BELLY.

Began 'THE NIGHT LOGAN WOKE UP' (Netflix). I shut it down 12 minutes into episode #2. A very strange French Canadian tale. I like it.

We 8/15/18 Up 820am; overcast, clammy, and threatening. Rain predicted all day and tomorrow- none so far; 915am. (All day and barely a sprinkle- it was happening all around us, but nothing here) Watched  'SUSPECT ZERO' (Amazon Prime) Aaron Eckhart/ Ben Kingsley/ Carrie Anne Moss.  Eckhart plays a disgraced FBI agent who is being fed information by a serial killer. Seems to be Ben Kingsley, but he's not the killer, he's an ex-agent who can do 'remote viewing'. Not bad, but close, however excellent and creative charcoal drawings as the 'hints' to Eckhart's character. Finished 'SIGNS' (Netflix). Clearly the drama hasn't ended, and I hope there will be infinite new seasons. {No such luck. I couldn't find anything about a third season}.
