Up 550am: Cloudy and periods of rain with temps to about 40, but temps dropping 40 degrees and strong winds later today. Tomorrow's high is only sixteen degrees!

***I ran an 'Updates' and got the prompt to 'Restart'. I swept the gumballs off the front porch and the 'Restart' was complete. As usual, no discernable difference in performance. 

Watched 'SHOWING UP' (Hoopla). This low budget Independent is weirdly funny and transports you into a completely different world. This film is designed to enrage any right-of-center or conservative American. A mildly satirical, yet a somewhat genuine portrait of 'working' artists in contemporary Portland, Oregon; with Michelle Williams, Hong Chau, and Judd Hirsh.

The film was inspired by Black Mountain College in North Carolina and filmed on the old campus of the Oregon College of Art and Craft.

More 'CIGARETTE GIRL' (Netflix). I shut it down 32 minutes into episode #2. A  big budget love story that happened in the sixties in Java, Indonesia.  Kretek cigarettes- mix of tobacco, clove, and other spices.

12pm: PC is 'Off' and will hit the treadmill. 

1230pm:  FIVE MILES AT 4.1 PACE AND ZERO SLANT; watched 'WE MIGHT BE DRUNK' without a guest.

More 'CIGARETTE GIRL' (Netflix). I shut it down 51 minutes into episode #3. So weird and foreign, yet still a very relatable love story.

I first thought that they were for the house across the street, but it looks like the action is farther down the road. Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80".
