 Mo 1/15/24- Dr. Garg: 1pm

645am (2-B). 855am (1-B). 540pm (2-B). 820pm (2-B).

Up 550am: Bitterly cold and breezy and today's high will be '4'.

I did the Five Miles before the 'Morning Movie' because I have a 1pm appointment with Dr. Garg.

650am:  FIVE MILES AT 4.1 PACE AND ZERO SLANT; watched more of 'WORKING' (Netflix)- This is a distressing series. I don't know what I'd do if I was a young person today. Do today's youth have unrealistic dreams or is the government not doing enough to meet the needs of the citizens? It's probably a little of both and I hope we also see what it looks like from the owners' side of this economic equation.

Watched 'NOBODY KNOWS I'M HERE' (Netflix). An obese man lives with his uncle on a remote Chilean sheep farm.  When he was a boy he was 'the voice' of a young pop star. The 'star' would lip sync to the boy's incredible vocalizations and he became famous. A young woman visits the sheep farm and helps the 'forgotten' boy to reclaim his self esteem. The film is based on an innovative premise and the story is well executed. "64" Metascore.  Set near Llanquihue, Chile.

Began 'THE JOURNALIST' (Netflix). I shut it down 33 minutes into episode #1. Corruption at the highest levels of Japanese politics and the prime minister is asking for a 'rewriting' of relevant documents. Members of his party can't accept the idea of fraud. I'm going to continue with this series tonight and forget the Kuwaiti melodrama.

1215pm: PC is 'Off' and preparing for the trip (in the frigid cold) to 900 N. 1st.

1240pm: To Memorial &  driving to Fairhills by 130pm

To Family Dollar/ Fairhills: $39- incense, place mats, Buddy's mat, canned cat food, one big candle, two boxes of emergency candles.

***Buddy was sick while I was at the doctor. He seemed a little lethargic and even had a diminished appetite. Back to normal by evening and he loves his new rug by the kitchen register.

From 'The Chat' that I sent to Janny:

"Today was my appointment with Dr. Garg. He's the blood specialist who told me to eat more raisons. I have a 'low blood count', but it was only marginally 'low' when he noticed it two years ago. I've made about a two percent gain since I last saw him based on the bloodwork that they did today. He said that it wasn't anything to worry about and this might have been my 'norm' for most of my life. He doesn't have a reason for the low reading and he said that in order to uncover the source of the problem I would need a 'blood marrow test'. This is where they stick a needle into your thigh bone and extract a sample of marrow. He said the procedure is not that painful because they use a strong local anesthetic, but the recovery is 'somewhat' painful. I told him that I don't want this unless it's absolutely necessary and at this point it is not.

Call me a cynic, but he makes more money if he can advocate for 'tests' and I don't want them. Before I let him stick a needle in my thigh bone, I will eat my weight in raisins."

1240pm: To Memorial &  driving to Fairhills by 130pm

To Family Dollar/ Fairhills: $39- incense, place mats, Buddy's mat, canned cat food, one big candle, two boxes of emergency candles.

Reading 'REDEMPTION'

450pm: TWO MILES AT 4.1 PACE AND ZERO SLANT; finished TONY ROBBINS on THEO VON.

545pm: In the tub with 'REDEMPTION' and listening to RARE EARTH Playlist; PRINCE & NPG- 'Live: One Nite Alone'; Free- 'Tons of Sobs'.

Wrote 'The Chat'

More 'THE JOURNALIST' (Netflix). I shut it down 45 minutes into episode #2. The land for the private school was extremely cheap because the prime minister and his wife gave the land owners special compensations for the reduced price. I think this is what happened.
