Up 545am: Cloudy with temps almost to 40. Temperatures will be rising all week and more rain is predicted beginning late this evening. 

Watched 'THE LESSON' (Kanopy). A young author takes a tutoring position at the estate of a legendary writer and becomes ensnared in the family's conflicting grievances and buried resentments. It's a very clever story and keeps you guessing to the very end of the film; with Richard E. Grant, Julie Delpy, and Daryl McCormack. "62" Metascore.

More of 'SELF MADE: Inspired By The Life of Madam C.J. Walker' (Netflix). A rather bland tale of Black Female Empowerment that could do with a little more edge, but still well worth a look. 

1210pm: PC is 'Off' and preparing for a walk on the treadmill. At noon it's still a slick & treacherous mess on the streets and sidewalks. It's only beginning to melt.

1245pm: FIVE MILES AT 4.1 PACE AND ZERO SLANT; began JOEY DIAZ on J.R.E.

545pm: In the tub with 'THE GUARDIANS' and listening to 'JAMES GANG- 'Bang'/'Miami'; ALLMAN BROTHERS- 'An Evening With The Allman Brothers Band'.

Began HEATHER MCMAHAN on 'Blocks'.

More 'KUBRA' (Netflix). I shut it down 32 minutes into episode #6. Things are heating up. Look up the novel, 'The Shack'.

We 8/15/18 Up 820am; overcast, clammy, and threatening. Rain predicted all day and tomorrow- none so far; 915am. (All day and barely a sprinkle- it was happening all around us, but nothing here) Watched  'SUSPECT ZERO' (Amazon Prime) Aaron Eckhart/ Ben Kingsley/ Carrie Anne Moss.  Eckhart plays a disgraced FBI agent who is being fed information by a serial killer. Seems to be Ben Kingsley, but he's not the killer, he's an ex-agent who can do 'remote viewing'. Not bad, but close, however excellent and creative charcoal drawings as the 'hints' to Eckhart's character. Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80". Borrowed 'HOLY COW' and 'TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH' from Hoopla to meet my quota for September. Watched 'HOLY COW' (Hoopla). A troubled teen and his young sister try to make a go of it on their farmstead dairy after their father dies. It's got a strange tone and far from an average 'coming of age' tale. Set in far eastern France near the rural villages of Pimorin and Orgelet which are about 75 miles west of Geneva, Switzerland.
