Watched 'ABANDONED' (Netflix).  A female detective is set to eat her gun, but the discovery of a dead female 'illegal' makes her quit the suicide and focus on some unsolved homicides. The plot involves: *** the grief stricken detective over the suicide of her partner*** a young man's connection to an illegal operation to settle immigrants into the country*** How the photographer of the operations was murdering young immigrant females on their birthdays. An interesting Police Drama. Set in Taichung City, Taiwan.

Watched 'THE FALL OF '55' (Amazon Prime). In the late Fall of 1955 the city of Boise, Idaho conducted a 'Moral Decency Campaign' that targeted Boise's gay population. It was done under the guise of 'protecting the children'. The film fails to mention that according to the American Psychiatric Association the practice of homosexuality was still considered a 'mental illness' until 1975. At least one 'authority' in the documentary still believed that what happened in Boise was necessary and that it didn't go far enough to stamp out homosexuality altogether.

More 'HIGH TIDES' (Netflix). I shut it down 7 minutes into the final episode. I will definitely finish this tomorrow morning. The drunk who owns the beach tavern has died and everyone knows that Patrick (Glamor Boy's dad) killed Claudia (The Black Stud's aunt).

We 8/15/18 Up 820am; overcast, clammy, and threatening. Rain predicted all day and tomorrow- none so far; 915am. (All day and barely a sprinkle- it was happening all around us, but nothing here) Watched  'SUSPECT ZERO' (Amazon Prime) Aaron Eckhart/ Ben Kingsley/ Carrie Anne Moss.  Eckhart plays a disgraced FBI agent who is being fed information by a serial killer. Seems to be Ben Kingsley, but he's not the killer, he's an ex-agent who can do 'remote viewing'. Not bad, but close, however excellent and creative charcoal drawings as the 'hints' to Eckhart's character. Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80". Borrowed 'HOLY COW' and 'TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH' from Hoopla to meet my quota for September. Watched 'HOLY COW' (Hoopla). A troubled teen and his young sister try to make a go of it on their farmstead dairy after their father dies. It's got a strange tone and far from an average 'coming of age' tale. Set in far eastern France near the rural villages of Pimorin and Orgelet which are about 75 miles west of Geneva, Switzerland.
