Watched 'MICKEY AND NICKY' (Kanopy). {Recommended by Sam Morril on 'We Might Be Drunk}  Set in gritty 70's NYC the film is a strange and compelling 'Buddy Film'. A guy is on the run from the mob and he calls a friend for help. During that wild & crazy night we learn more and more about their strained & complicated relationship. Directed by Elaine May; with John Cassavetes, Peter Falk, Ned Beatty, and M. Emmet Walsh. "81" Metascore.

Watched 'SMALL TIME CROOKS' (Tubi). {Recommended on 'We Might Be Drunk'}. A couple and a few of their naive friends decide to rob a bank by renting an adjacent building and then tunneling for the loot. The wife bakes cookies while the boys dig downstairs, yet when the robbery fizzles, the cookie business breaks all records; with Woody Allen, Tracey Ullman, Hugh Grant, Michael Rapaport, and Jon Lovitz. Directed by Woody Allen. I don't think that I had ever seen this film before and I found it very funny. "69" Metascore and I might have rated this a couple of points higher..."I went out with Jim. what'd you talk about, cartoons"..."Her husband Otto is dyslexic. He can only spelll his name".

We 8/15/18 Up 820am; overcast, clammy, and threatening. Rain predicted all day and tomorrow- none so far; 915am. (All day and barely a sprinkle- it was happening all around us, but nothing here) Watched  'SUSPECT ZERO' (Amazon Prime) Aaron Eckhart/ Ben Kingsley/ Carrie Anne Moss.  Eckhart plays a disgraced FBI agent who is being fed information by a serial killer. Seems to be Ben Kingsley, but he's not the killer, he's an ex-agent who can do 'remote viewing'. Not bad, but close, however excellent and creative charcoal drawings as the 'hints' to Eckhart's character. Finished 'SIGNS' (Netflix). Clearly the drama hasn't ended, and I hope there will be infinite new seasons. {No such luck. I couldn't find anything about a third season}.
