A black late model Cadillac is parked in the drive across the street. It looks like it belongs to an elderly black woman who is possibly a friend or family.
***Buddy threw up his 430am snack in front of the toaster. I noticed when I was making the coffee after I got up. No more food during the night.
I had to do a Windows Update and it went slightly better than the downstairs PC last night.
Watched 'THE CAPTAIN' (Amazon Prime). Near the end of WWII a German desertor (looter?) escapes, steals the uniform of a captain and then organizes a fake squad that goes after German looters and deserters. He becomes more and more brutal and the film shows how quickly violent behavior can become a 'necessary evil'. German soldiers brutally assassinate most of a prison camp composed of Germans who were arrested for petty crimes. The film is based on a real incident and the man impersonating a German captain was later caught, tried and executed. He was only 21 years old. A powerful, yet strange film; 23 wins & 19 nominations. "67" Metascore and I would have rated it slightly higher.
Began 'CALL MY AGENT' (Netflix). This is a large budget French production and I think I'll give this series a shot and drop the Chinese dramedy that I began last night. I shut it down 30 minutes into episode #1.
At 10am I called Emily Stone about the Kanopy problem and called again at 11am and left my number. I'm kind of resigned to the fact that I won't be able to get on until next month. It's a stupid and unnecessary rule.
{She called and left a message that she had contacted Kanopy and they were working on it. I didn't hear from her and I'll call back on Monday}
1120am: The PC is 'Off' and the plan is to do the weights and then visit Planet Fitness. After the workout I'll stop at Schnucks' for a 30pk and soda.
Weights: 3 sets/ 15 reps.
1215pm: To Planet Fitness...45"Cross, 45"Treadmill, 30"Bike, 30"Treadmill, 30"Cross; watched documentary 'THE SAILOR' (Amazon Prime)- A profile of Paul Johnson, an old sailor who lives on his sailing boat near Grenada and he's coming to grips with the fact that he is probably too old to continue this lifestyle; watched documentary 'THE PIG FARM (Amazon Prime)- A True Crime documentary about Willie Pickton who was a serial killer of prostitutes in Vancouver, Canada during the late 1990's. He slaughtered the women at his hog farm on the edge of the city.
To Schnucks: $28- Sunkist diet soda, 30 pack Natural Light.
Finished 'HARD TO HANDLE' by Steve Gorman and back to 'LAZARUS' by Morris West. 440pm: In the tub with 'LAZARUS' and listening to BIG STAR Playlist; ROLLING STONES- Early Playlist; SMASHING PUMPKINS- 'Gish' Deluxe.
Began CHRIS JERICHO (pro wrestler) on 'Blocks'.
More 'CALL MY AGENT' (Netflix). I shut it down 29 minutes into episode #2. My interest is waning and the only upside is that it's shot in a beautiful section of Paris.
