Watched 'GOD'S CROOKED LINES' (Netflix). The film is set in late 70's Spain and concerns a rich woman who has been committed to a mental asylum for attempting to poison her husband. However, she claims that she is 'undercover' and trying to solve a murder. She is a compulsive liar and very intelligent, so you never understand if she is telling the truth or suffering from mental illness. It's a classy film and it's not necessary to know exactly 'what happened' because all points of view share a certain degree of truthfulness; 4 wins & 20 nominations. The film is based on a novel by Torcuato Luca de Tena.  

***9am: The guy across the street was power vacuuming away the fireworks debris from last night. 915am- as he was sweeping, two guys in an over-sized pickup delivered a big green dumpster to the old woman's driveway next door. On the way back from the walk I noticed a guy on the old woman's roof doing 'patchwork' repair...'Chuck & A Truck' strikes again.  

Watched a YouTube video about the film and then a fifteen minute YouTube video about the beef between Bert & Bill Burr that was more sizzle than steak. 

Called State Farm and either they were busy or are still closed for the holiday. I'll call when I get back from the walk. I had planned to hit a health club, but the weather  is so nice, I'll hit the sidewalks.

More 'THE STRANGER' (Netflix). I shut it down 21 minutes into episode #6. I might watch this to the end tomorrow morning....or not.

Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80".
