655am (2-LB). 750am (1-B). 1015am (1/2-LB). 1225pm (2-LB). 445pm (1/2/LB). 535pm (2-LB). 815pm (2-LB).

Up 530am: Mostly sunny with temps to about 90. The rain gauge says Westview got about an inch and a half of rain yesterday and early this morning.

***Just as I started 'THE HUMANS' I noticed that the PC was requesting a 'Restart' and it only took a few minutes.

Watched 'THE HUMANS' (Hoopla). I also borrowed 'THE INVITATION', but after seeing the trailer at IMDB I realized that it was pretty familiar and I should have rewatched it on Tubi to save a Hoopla pick. 'THE HUMANS' is set in a seedy apartment in Manhattan's Chinatown where a 'slightly' extended family celebrates a quarrelsome and impassioned Thanksgiving. The family is plagued with interpersonal problems and it is clear that none of them are as close as they would like to believe. A dinner party is a popular premise and setting for a film and this one holds up admirably; with Richard Jenkins, Amy Schumer, and Steven Yeun. From a one-act play by Stephen Karam and he also directed the film. 2 wins & 9 nominations. "78" Metascore and was a bit surprised that it rated so highly.

Finished the last bit of 'THE SIGNAL' (Netflix). A very unique ending. A spacecraft lands where the girl and her father expected, but this capsule was launched from Earth during the 1970's and was shot into space as an interstellar broadcast of universal peace. Apparently an alien intelligence has returned the probe back to earth to remind humans that universal peace begins at home. The dead mom appears although that might just be wishful dreaming on the part of the girl and her father.  I watched a five minute YouTube video about the film and it basically reiterated the plot without including any interesting ideas or observations.

{***'THE INVITATION' is another film that is set at a dinner party}

Began 'THE INVITATION' (Hoopla). Although I remember that all of the dread & apprehension leads to something dire,  I can't remember exactly what it might be but I can see that what leads up to it is worth seeing again. I shut it down with 40 minutes left to go and I'll finish it tomorrow morning.

1150am: PC is 'Off' and the plan is to do the weights and then hit the sidewalks. Tomorrow begins several days of much cooler weather.

No Weights

1235pm- 220pm: On the walk...Kenyon,  Fairway,  across Monroe,  behind McD's,  Washington,  Adams,  Monroe,  Lincoln,  Wash.Pk northside,  MacArthur,  Wash.Pk southside,  Douglas,  Leland,  Wiggins,  Wash.Pk southside,  up the hill,  Parkview,  Fairway,  and up to 940...ONE HOUR AND 40 MINUTES;  KING CRIMSON- 'Live Vienna'; JIMI HENDRIX Live; ADAM SANDLER on J.R.E.

Finished 'DEMON COPPERHEAD'

445pm: TWO MILES AT 4.1 PACE AND ZERO SLANT; began JIM NORTON on 'WE MIGHT BE DRUNK.

540pm: In the tub with 'AH,  TREACHERY' by ROSS THOMAS and listening to JETHRO TULL- 'Benefit'; JOHN PAUL JONES- 'Zooma'; LES CLAYPOOL Playlist.

More of 'The Nortons' on 'WE MIGHT BE DRUNK'.

Began 'UNAUTHORIZED LIVING' (Netflix). The film series is set in Galicia, Spain which is in the extreme northwestern corner of the country directly to the north of  Portugal. I shut it down 59 minutes into episode #1. It's 2 seasons and each episode is an hour and fifteen minutes and there are 13 episodes in season 1. The premise is that a sixty year old Spanish drug lord learns that he is in the beginning stages of Alziemers'. He owns an international shipping corporation as a front, but the business is losing money and the drug operation is keeping things afloat. Will his son, his daughter, or his loyal adopted son inherit the empire?
