 Su 8/11/24-Grocery Shopping: $122

730am (2-LB). 8am (1/2-B). 125pm (2-LB). 415pm (1/2-LB). [NEW BATCH- White Truffle Popcorn]. 445pm (2-LB). 815pm (2-LB).

Up 6am: A mix of sun & clouds and temps to about 80. More unusually beautiful August weather.

Watched 'LOLO AND THE KID' (Netflix). An old man and a young boy live on the streets and con childless couples into 'buying' the boy. Even in the Philippines (and anywhere on the planet) there must be laws against the selling of children.  In the movie, after the transaction is made,  the kid steals whatever he can grab and then leaves the unsuspecting 'parents' and hooks up with the old man back on the street. Not in the least believable, and the sentimentality and corniness is overpowering. It was such a lame & pathetic attempt at 'heartwarming' that I almost liked it..."Partners Forever". Set and shot in Manila, Philippines.

Finished 'BRIGANDS: The Quest For Gold' (Netflix). A very unsatisfying ending, but another season is in the works. I think that in the actual Italian uprisings of the 19th century, the rebels lost the war and southern Italy and Sicily were reunited with the north.

Began 'THE MIRE '97' (Netflix). {I watched 'THE MIRE' which was Season #1, 'THE MIRE '97' is next, and the final season is 'MILLENNIUM'}.       Set near Lipiec, Poland which is located in the northeastern part of the country and about 60 miles from Gdansk, Poland. The film concerns 'The Great Flood of 1997' which was the greatest flood on record in Poland. 'Rojst' is the original title of the series and is Polish for 'mire' or 'special wetlands'.  It could be a metaphor that compares the people and the system they live in to a swamp that they can't escape.

1255pm: The PC is 'Off' and the plan is to walk on the treadmill and then get a handle on the backlog of materials that I have to send to 'Your Spending Account'. I hope to give them a call with all of my questions tomorrow morning.

I planned to do FIVE MILES AT 4.1 PACE AND ZERO SLANT; TUESDAYS WITH STORIES, but I noticed that it's supposed to rain tomorrow so I'll hit the treadmill when it's raining.

135pm- 320pm: To Washington Park...Fairway,  Parkview,  Wash.Pk southside,  Wiggins,  Outer Park,  Lincoln,  Leland,  Douglas,  Wash.Pk northside,  MacArthur,  Wash.Pk northside,  up the hill,  Parkview,  Kenyon,  and down to 940...ONE HOUR AND 45 MINUTES; EMERSON LAKE & PALMER- 'Brain Salad Surgery'; more of J.R.E. with the author of 'Blitzed' & 'Tripped'.

*While on the walk Buddy knocked over my coffee cup on the kitchen counter by the CD player and soaked the 'pot bindle'.

I had planned to work on 'Your Spending Account', but lost all desire.

Reading 'DEMON COPPERHEAD'

425pm- and put away by 510pm:  To County Market; $122.

New Pot! White Truffle Popcorn 7g; 23%

450pm: In the tub with 'DEMON COPPERHEAD' and listening to MILES DAVIS Playlist; ALLMAN BROTHERS- 'Seven Turns'; DAVID BOWIE- 'Heroes'/ 'Lodger'.

More of ROB LOWE on 'Bertcast'.

More 'MIRE '97' (Netflix). I shut it down 25 minutes into episode #3. There are a lot of moving parts, yet the suspense keeps building.
