Watched 'OUR BRAND IS CRISIS' (Hoopla- borrowed yesterday). It's a movie about political campaigns that 'go negative' and although the message is clearly aimed at an American audience, the film is set in the Third World country of Bolivia. The rather strident theme is that when you orchestrate a political race using metaphors for war, you're going to cause an incalculable degree of carnage. The film demonstrates that winning might not be 'everything' and to manufacture a 'crisis' to achieve that goal is extremely dangerous for a country; with Sandra Bullock, Billy Bob Thornton, Anthony Mackie, Joaquim de Almeida, Ann Dowd, and Scoot McNairy. Set in Bolivia yet filmed in Puerto Rico. "53" Metascore and that's about where I'd put it. "If voting actually changed things, they would have made it illegal".
***About 845am I noticed that the water pressure at the kitchen sink was very low. I assumed that the faucet was clogged and then I checked the bathroom and the pressure was down at both spickets. I called CWLP and the guy said he'd check and call back, but the water pressure had returned. I hope he calls back because I'd like a reason because they must be aware that something happened in their lines. 930am CWLP called back and they had no workers in the area and he had no idea what could have happened. It was almost like they were draining the fire plug, but I obviously would have noticed a firetruck in front of 940. Maybe down the street?
Watched 'FRYBREAD FACE AND ME' (Netflix). Benny is an eleven year old Navajo from San Diego who is sent to live with his grandmother on the reservation for the summer. He meets many of his uncles, aunts, and cousins and learns a little bit about his Native American heritage. But the film has a more universal appeal in that it demonstrates how all families are made up of quirky individuals that cause deep connections, but also some emotional strife. It's a small, Independent film that really felt honest, authentic, and heartfelt.
12pm: Began looking at the paperwork for YSA. I want to spend today organizing the stuff and making a list of questions; where to send them? What is rebateable? Correct phone numbers and new department names?
I spent almost an hour and did not come away with any more confidence than before I placed the call. I established a 'phone pin number' and password at ATT Benefits. They will send more reimbursement forms and I seemed to understand that I could be reimbursed for stuff not covered on the supplemental dental insurance.
120pm: PC is 'Off' and I will continue getting the paperwork organized and then tomorrow I'll go to the Wabash PO before the workout and buy an envelope and send it. I should get a significant amount back; Over $900 for the dental 'out of pocket' and $90 for the Tamsulosin.
*I got it in the envelope and gave it to the mailman who was out front.
I don't know if I'll do an outside walk or hit the treadmill.
235pm: FIVE MILES AT 4.1 PACE AND ZERO SLANT; the latest TUESDAYS WITH STORIES; more 'Blocks'.
545pm: In the tub with 'DEMON COPPERHEAD' and listening to BRIAN ENO- 'Discreet Music'; MELVINS- 'Senile Animal'; Early DAVID BOWIE Playlist.
Finished ANDY RICHTER on 'Blocks'.
More 'MIRE 97' (Netflix). I finished episode #5 and only one 59" episode remains and I'll finish tomorrow morning.
