Weekly Cleaning

Watched 'REMINISCENCE' (Netflix).  Set in a dystopian future where Miami, Florida is underwater (due to climate change) and it has become like a flood ravaged American version of Venice, Italy. People sleep during the day due to the heat and most of the city is flooded and taxis are long gone, but boats are in. It's a crazy noir tale about a guy that runs a company that catalogs your memories (the SciFi elements of the film) and for a fee, you can go back (using a kind of sensory deprivation tank) and relive any moment of your life. He's trying to locate the woman that came into his life and then abruptly left. I'd give this film a solid 'B' if only for originality; with Hugh Jackman, Rebecca Ferguson, Thandiwe Newton, and Cliff Curtis. "46" Metascore and I'd have gone many points higher. 

Watched 'AN INVISIBLE VICTIM: The Eliza Samudio Case' (Netflix). A True Crime about a Brazilian football superstar who was married yet never shy about sharing his many sexual liaisons with the press. He got one of his girlfriends pregnant but when he tried to drop her, she went public. She said that he was violent and threatened to kill her. He did. It's only fifteen years since the murder and he's out of jail and back as a professional soccer player. Her body has yet to be located. 

1245pm: PC is 'Off' and the plan is to do the weights and walk in Washington Park. I'm still going to go slow because although my 'ankle/ knee' feels fine, I don't want to push it.

Finished FELIPE ESPARZA on 'Blocks' and began a 'WE MIGHT BE DRUNK'.

More 'WE WERE KINGS' (Netflix). I shut it down 26 minutes into episode #4. I'm surprised that it's such a big deal that the guy fell in love with his best friend's mother. Most of them hate her because she was the guy's godmother, but, so what?

Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80".
