Weekly Cleaning

Watched 'PERDIDA' (Netflix).  Five Argentine school girls go on a field trip to Patagonia and one goes missing and is never found. Actually, the missing girl was taken by sex traffickers and over the years became a Madam.  Fourteen years later one of the girls has become a detective and relentlessly continues the search for her missing friend. A classic example of the 'Lady Boss Man' genre that works!  I had seen this one before and well worth a second viewing because it's pretty complex and it was developed from a South American novel titled 'CORNELIA'. {The title of the film translates as the feminine for 'lost' or 'loose woman'}

Watched 'THE MISFITS' (Netflix). A quirky criminal gang robs a fortune of gold and then donate it to UNICEF. Although the film does not take itself seriously, unless you are in your early teens or brain dead, you are bound to be disappointed; with Pierce Brosnan, Tim Roth, and Nick Cannon. "25" Metascore and I would rate it in single digits and give it a 'Thumbs Down'. Much of the film is set and shot in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. From 'The Playlist': "The Misfits feels like you’re watching a montage of better movies". 

1230pm: The PC is 'Off' and the plan is to hit the treadmill and then read Coben for the rest of the day.

More 'BETWEEN LANDS' (Netflix). I shut it down 21 minutes into episode #3. Set in 1967 and I'm surprised that arranged marriages were so accepted.

I first thought that they were for the house across the street, but it looks like the action is farther down the road. Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80".
