Watched 'MOTHER!' (Pluto TV). Directed by Darren Aronofsky. A strange yet compelling film about a husband and wife who are restoring and living in a remote country home. The man is a writer with writer's block and she is a housewife who seems to be somewhat troubled. They are visited by an unsettling couple who seem to set off a series of strange and hallucinatory sequences. The husband eventually becomes a kind of 'messiah' and she unwillingly evolves into his 'inspiration'...I guess: The description of the film at Pluto TV- "...visually arresting psychological thriller that will leave your heart pounding and your mind blown!" 

I watched a couple of YouTube videos about the film and realized that I completely missed the point. The man was meant to be 'God' and the woman was 'Mother Earth/ Nature 'and their first visitors were 'Adam & Eve' and sons, 'Cain & Able'. And, then the rabble arrive and that is meant to represent 'Mankind'. It's all about God, Religion, and Man's relationship to the cosmos...or something;  with Jennifer Lawrence, Javier Bardem, Ed Harris, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Kristen Wiig. That the film was using bible imagery never occurred to me. 9 wins & 53 nominations. "76" Metascore. I liked it because it was visually arresting even though I didn't really understand the message. 

Watched some 'True Crime' on YouTube. 

'THE DETECTIVE'S WIFE' (YouTube).  A detective's wife shoots herself in the head while making peanut butter sandwiches or did he do it? He got life, but a forensic expert felt that the woman's thick hair was the reason that no gun residue was found. His case rested on this fact, but the jury didn't buy it.  Westfield, Massachusetts- 10 miles west of Springfield, MA.

***1020am: I paid the bill but I still need a printed copy. The clerk (didn't seem like he knew what he was doing. The call took far longer than usual.  He said that "it wasn't in the system and he couldn't send a copy. Try back in a week". 

***The change in shipping date was registered and my next shipment from Wedgewood should happen on 9/10.

1130am: PC is 'Off' and the plan is to do the weights and then visit Planet Fitness.

1220pm: To Planet Fitness...45"Cross,  45"Treadmill,  30"Bike,  30"Treadmill,  30"Cross;  watched 'ALOHA' (Netflix)- A star-crossed love story on a military base in Hawaii that might have worked better as a drama. It wasn't funny or interesting; with Bradley Cooper, Rachel McAdams, Emma Stone, Alec Baldwin, Bill Murray, John Krasinski, and Bill Murray. Directed by Cameron Crowe. "40" Metascore and that's about where I'd rate it; more of THEO VON podcast; True Crime/ YouTube- A woman in Niles, Michigan is raped and murdered. A microscopic trace of DNA solves the case...30 years later.

More 'THE BARRIER' (Netflix). I shut it down 8 minutes into episode #10.

Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80".
