Up 6am: Overcast with temps to mid 20's. They are expecting over five inches beginning late Sunday. "Red sky in morning, sailor take warning...."- This morning I happened to notice that the sky in the east was bright pink. I'd never seen a sky this red.

Watched 'GOEBBELS AND THE FUHRER' (Kanopy). A fictional recreation with actual newsreel footage of Goebbels rise to power. Interesting Details: 1) Hitler's intrusion into Goebbels's marriage when he learned that the couple wanted to separate. Hitler made the couple sign documents that they would stay together because a divorce would bring disgrace to the party. 2) Hitler wanted war almost from the beginning..."I'm almost fifty and I don't want to head an invasion at 60". 3) In the darkest days of the war Goebbels made 80% more movie dramas that glorified Nazi ideals although the films were set in the 18th century. {Goebbels had a doctorate in 'Philology' which is the study of language in its historical and cultural context, particularly through the analysis of written texts. This was a perfect background for a propagandist}.

Watched episode #9 of 'THE FAMILY' (Netflix). 'The Recap' consists of identifying all of the characters and their titles- odd, yet helpful.

11am: PC is 'Off' and the plan is to do the weights and then workout at Planet Fitness (because Esporta closes at 2pm on weekends...Remember?). Then to the vitamin shop for my monthly dose. 

1210pm: To Planet Fitness...45"Cross,  45"Treadmill,  30" Recumbent Bike,  30" Treadmill,  30"Cross;  began 'MISSING YOU' (Netflix)- Another Harlan Coben on Netflix & about what you'd expect; more of 'WE MIGHT BE DRUNK'.

Reading'INNOCENCE' 

545pm: In the tub to finish 'INNOCENCE' & almost  began 'CARLITO'S WAY' by EDWIN TORRES and listened to JOHN MAYALL Playlist- the entire soak. 

Finished BEN SCHWARTZ on 'WE MIGHT BE DRUNK'.

Finished 'THE FAMILY' (Netflix). Overall I think that the series moves far too slow and has lots of needless and bloated dialog. I think that's probably the preferred manner for Japanese drama. However, in the final episode there were some nice nature shots of the main character (the young executive who needs a blast furnace more than just about anything) as he walks up a mountain in the snow carrying a shotgun. Will he see the (very ugly) magical boar again? Of course he does, but I wasn't expecting him to blow his head off with a shotgun blast from grandpa's prized rifle. And post mortem blood tests show that his blood type was'B' so he really was his father's son, and not his grandfather's love child. What a crazy & wild soap.

We 8/15/18 Up 820am; overcast, clammy, and threatening. Rain predicted all day and tomorrow- none so far; 915am. (All day and barely a sprinkle- it was happening all around us, but nothing here) Watched  'SUSPECT ZERO' (Amazon Prime) Aaron Eckhart/ Ben Kingsley/ Carrie Anne Moss.  Eckhart plays a disgraced FBI agent who is being fed information by a serial killer.  Th 10/2/25 8am (1-LB: Diablo's Hearse). 10am (1-B: Citrus Mac). 1220pm (2-LB: Citrus Mac). 535pm (1-LB: Citrus Mac). 810pm (1-LB: Diablo's Hearse).  Up 715am: {took a dump at 4am}. Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80".
