Up 740am: {Was Tired!} Cloudy and temps to low 30's. The first time that temps have climbed over the freezing mark in many, many days. It could turn into a sloppy mess or it might not be warm enough to melt anything. {Some melting but there are still icy patches on Westview Drive and the ground is covered with drifted snow- several inches}.

***An Abbreviated Weekly Cleaning because the weed has not arrived and I have to make a report to VIIA  and USPS. Impossible to create a dialogue with the US post office. Fuck 'em. And VIIA only works Monday thru Friday. 

Watched 'THE BADGE' (Amazon Prime). A homophobic sheriff in rural Louisiana investigates the murder of a trans-sexual and must face his own conflicted sexual identity. It's a quasi-believable 'Hillbilly Noir' presentation of a kind of 'taboo' subject. On the other hand, with all the superb acting talent, it could have been a whole lot better ; Billy Bob Thornton, Patricia Arquette, William Devane, Thomas Haden Church, Julie Hagerty. Filmed south of Baton Rouge, Louisiana in Donaldsonville, LA. {In an interview Billy Bob Thornton said that he was hired to make a comedy and the director changed course and made a thriller}

Began 'IN COLD WATER' (Amazon Prime). I shut it down 38 minutes into episode #1 and I'll continue on the treadmill.  The drowning occured near Revelstoke, Canada and that's 430 miles south and west of Edmonton, CA. The couple lived in Westlock, Alberta, Canada which is 55 miles north of Edmonton, CA.

120pm: PC is 'Off' and preparing for a walk on the treadmill. I paid the card and ended up wasting so much time trying to log on to both accounts.

535pm: In the tub with 'CASE HISTORIES' and listening to SOFT MACHINE- 'Third'; MAHAVISHNU ORCHESTRA 'The Essential'; PAUL SIMON- 'Graceland'.

Finished 'IN COLD WINTER' (Netflix). The reason this was a better than average 'True Crime' is that you don't know whether he did it or not. Was she pushed from the boat, did she fall, or did she fall and then he did nothing while she sank? The case is used as an example of Canadian prosecutors creating a crime where one didn't exist. There was no physical evidence that it was anything more than an accident although there were a couple of red flags. A sizable insurance policy on his wife and the fact that he receives her pension for the rest of his life would seem to be a motive for murder, although without physical evidence that a crime occured, you can't convict.

More 'AMERICAN PRIMEVAL' (Netflix). I shut it down 3 minutes into episode #5. This has to be one of the bloodiest presentations of the American West that has ever been made. The Indians are savages and the white men are worse. Also, the role that the Mormons play is particularly sinister.
