Watched 'THE LUCKY ONES' (Hoopla). Three Army soldiers on leave get stranded at the airport and decide to rent a car and hit the road together. One of them learns that his wife is leaving him, one has 'performance anxiety' because he was wounded in the groin, and the female private is trying to bring an expensive guitar back to her dead boyfriend's family. The film is based on silly premises, yet workable if you suspend reality and it was kind of enjoyable; with Tim Robbins, Rachel McAdams, Michael Pena. "53" Metascore and I would give it a "72" Metascore. 

Watched 'THE COLOR OF JUSTICE' (Amazon Prime). Four black youths hijack a female motorist, she is killed in the scuffle and the case becomes a major 'Racial Justice Case' in the media. This could have been so much better and it lacked power and failed to take a stand. Although the 1997 film could have been based on actual events, it seems to demonstrate that America hasn't made much progress on 'The Equality Front' in almost three decades {"American has the most successful and prosperous black population on earth"}; with Bruce Davison, F. Murray Abraham, Gregory Hines, and Judd Hirsh.

1120am: PC is 'Off' and preparing for a walk on the treadmill.

More 'THE FAMILY' (Netflix). I shut it down 23 minutes into episode #7. It's really morphing into a 'Father vs. Son' drama and getting pretty heavy-handed, but it's a soap.

We 8/15/18 Up 820am; overcast, clammy, and threatening. Rain predicted all day and tomorrow- none so far; 915am. (All day and barely a sprinkle- it was happening all around us, but nothing here) Watched  'SUSPECT ZERO' (Amazon Prime) Aaron Eckhart/ Ben Kingsley/ Carrie Anne Moss.  Eckhart plays a disgraced FBI agent who is being fed information by a serial killer. Seems to be Ben Kingsley, but he's not the killer, he's an ex-agent who can do 'remote viewing'. Not bad, but close, however excellent and creative charcoal drawings as the 'hints' to Eckhart's character. Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80". A troubled teen and his young sister try to make a go of it on their farmstead dairy after their father dies. It's got a strange tone and far from an average 'coming of age' tale.
