Up 6am: Cloudy to sunny, then breezy with frigid temps and today's high only to about 20.

Watched 'OBLIVION' (Netflix). Earth has been conquered by aliens and a male and female technical team are left on the dead planet to service drone robots that protect a massive power plant. The hydropower plant converts ocean water to energy and this will provide the power for the people of Earth to migrate to a moon of Jupiter. After that, I lost the thread of the plot, but I think that in this future reality, they have machines that allow you to 'hibernate' for decades so prolonged space flights would be a snap. And it seems that Jack Harper (the spaceman left behind to service the drones) has a doppelganger of himself who reads tattered books about life in ancient Rome and lives quietly in a rustic cabin in the pristine wilderness. And (most important), all women on spaceships wear high heels, seductive clothing, and loads of makeup. The storyline of the film was ridiculous, but the special effects were first rate; with Tom Cruise (as Jack Harper), Morgan Freeman, Andrea Riseborough, Olga Kurylenko, and Melissa Leo. 1 win & 17 nominations. "54" Metascore and I'd go to "72".

More 'SUBTERAN' (Netflix).  I shut it down 36 minutes into episode #3. This is pretty much a straight ahead drama, although it does involve a set of twins which always adds to the storyline confusion. 'Subteran' means 'underground' in Romanian.  

1140am: PC is 'Off' and preparing for a walk on the treadmill.

1205pm: FIVE MILES AT 4.1 PACE AND ZERO SLANT; TUESDAYS WITH STORIES; YouTube video about Hemp & The Farm Bill. No new ground was broken.

We 8/15/18 Up 820am; overcast, clammy, and threatening. Rain predicted all day and tomorrow- none so far; 915am. (All day and barely a sprinkle- it was happening all around us, but nothing here) Watched  'SUSPECT ZERO' (Amazon Prime) Aaron Eckhart/ Ben Kingsley/ Carrie Anne Moss.  Eckhart plays a disgraced FBI agent who is being fed information by a serial killer. Seems to be Ben Kingsley, but he's not the killer, he's an ex-agent who can do 'remote viewing'.  Th 10/2/25 8am (1-LB: Diablo's Hearse). 10am (1-B: Citrus Mac). 1220pm (2-LB: Citrus Mac). 535pm (1-LB: Citrus Mac). 810pm (1-LB: Diablo's Hearse).  Up 715am: {took a dump at 4am}. Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80". A troubled teen and his young sister try to make a go of it on their farmstead dairy after their father dies. It's got a strange tone and far from an average 'coming of age' tale.
